Don’t order from them!! I ordered through DoorDash and they completely didn’t give me my choice of meat just rice and gravy then when I tried calling they blocked me.
Well, it took 3 attempts (different days) to actually receive this order for 11:45 a.m. & 12:00 p.m. D&L canceled three (3) times because the TOGO order was still cooking. Door Dash could not wait, so they canceled the delivery. I enjoy the Turkey Wings. They are always tender and seasoned. The gravy was delicious, and the cornbread was a winner. I will still order. This is two (2) meals for me. I will bet it weighs 3+ lbs. Delivered piping hot!
The food has declined over the years. I decided to try them once more, and it was pure trash!!! The cheese won’t melt on the mac and cheese. I had to add butter, sugar, and cinnamon to the yams, plus they are stringy! The meat patty is so bland that I had to spit it out! The green beans are extra salty! Terrible. Where are the old cooks??
No frills but maaaan, is the food is so good. It's not in a good area and not really near anything but don't let that dissuade you. The portions are insane. I had the turkey necks, mac n cheese, rice, and greens. The food is perfect comfort food, and no matter what is happening in your life, it will hit the sport.
If you’re hungry, and don’t have a lot of money, D & L’s Cajun kitchen it’s just a place for you. It is a sort of a combination of soul food and Cajun cooking. This restaurant with plenty of dining seating is bound to have something that you will find appealing and filling. They have a small steam table with the usual suspects of a good soul, food restaurant - oxtails, turkey wings, collard greens, rice, gravy, mac & cheese, etc. Then at a separate location they will fry you fish, shrimp, boudin or whatever you want. As an added bonus they offer on Friday and Saturdays pork Cracklin as good as what I get in Louisiana. So again if you looking to fill up without emptying your pockets, this is a very good choice.
