Visited Lucille’s for lunch while I was in the area 🍽️✨ When we arrived, they were serving their brunch menu. I didn’t realize that beforehand and probably would have planned my visit around their lunch or dinner menu instead, simply because those options seem more aligned with my personal preferences. During my visit, I ordered the chicken and waffles along with the fried green tomato appetizer and the chili biscuits 🍗🧇🍅 Out of everything I tried, the fried green tomatoes were definitely the standout favorite for me 😍 They were flavorful and easily the dish I would order again. The rest of the food was good overall, especially considering brunch-style dishes are not usually my first choice. I did find the menu somewhat limited for my personal taste. The chili biscuits were also much smaller than I expected, although they did have good flavor. Others who enjoy brunch-style dishes would probably appreciate the selection more than I did. The waitstaff was very pleasant, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, which always makes for a better dining experience 🙌🏽 Overall, it’s a nice restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. If the menu offerings align with your tastes, I’d definitely say give them a try 😊
Wife took me for my birthday to try a new spot and the first thing that stood out was the service. Everyone was super polite warm and helpful with recommendations, if you can ask for Kassy who was 10/10 on knowledge of the menu and overall warm demeanor which made my wife and I have an amazing experience. The appetizers were so good we almost ordered more to go but decided to go for the oxtail Philly as our entree and all I can say is WOW!! The flavor and tenderness is unmatched and portions were so big you could honestly split if not super hungry. At the end a complimentary dessert was brought out and was the best bread pudding we have ever experienced. Do yourself a favor and try them you wont be disappointed.
Awesome vibes and service but I felt the food was kind of bland. Like all the dishes were cooked well. The fries were crispy, the burger bun was soft and the cheese was all melty, the fried fish tasted fresh and not all oily, the fried green tomatoes had a great batter, the mac n cheese was creamy with a nice crisp charred top and the stuffed jalapeños had a tasty glaze on top but everything was in dire need of salt. I just felt a little let down. The deal was great because we went during happy hour so I’d try them again. I forgot about the gumbo, that was just terrible sadly
Southern food elevated. The chili biscuits are a must, as is the melt in your mouth cornbread. Enjoyed the chicken fried steak and the catfish and grits. Everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The only detraction was service. Our waiter was very nice but once we got our food, we never saw her again. Everyone’s water ran out and we wanted another cocktail but she disappeared. We tried to flag someone else down but they seemed to be keeping their heads down since they were busy. Overall, it’s a good spot with some very solid food.
The hot chicken sandwich was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. It had the perfect amount of spice, and the fries were hot and seasoned really well. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Definitely worth trying if you’re in Houston!
