The service and atmosphere are the stars of the show! Food was so-so. We stopped in for dinner and got a brisket grilled cheese and the brisket burger. The burger had very little sauce and barely any meat. The grilled cheese was loaded with meat, but very little cheese and too much sauce. My husband was still hungry after his burger and ate half of my sandwich. We got fries and kettle chips as our sides. The fries were good, but the chips just tasted like oil with barely any salt on them (and no salt or pepper in the tables). We left full, which was the goal, but we probably won't stop in again.

Attended with my family of four. When we walked to the door, no one really greeted us and it took about 25 minutes before someone noticed they were sitting at a table and bring us a menu. It was not really busy at all on Sunday, although the football game was on. The food made up for everything. It was amazing tasted really well. The fish was well cooked and well seasoned. The burger was really good. Bacon was on point on the burger, chicken fingers crispy and flavorful not dry.

We ate at Moonshiners and overall had a good experience. The brisket nachos were delicious & could be shared about 8+ people! The shrimp tacos were delicious! Nashville hot chicken sandwich was good too! The bathrooms were dirty/needed to be cleaned up. The chairs are very loud/screechy when you move them. We had great service though!

During a brief stay in Houston, walked downtown and visited this place. Never been but glad we came. EXCELLENT FOOD! Perfect service. Nachos were really good...didnt use the standard corn chips. Perfect wings. Next time we are in town, we will definately be going back.

This past Tuesday, we headed downtown to catch the Blue Man Group at Jones Hall. We had a bit of time to kill and needed to grab some grub, so we stumbled upon The Moonshiners by accident—and honestly, I’m glad we did. It’s a pretty cool little spot with a chill vibe, and the staff was super friendly. I think we had two servers helping us out, and they were both awesome. The boys and I went for burgers, and my wife got some fried shrimp tacos. The burgers were great! I’m already looking forward to going back and trying them again. My 8-year-old didn’t want everything on his, lol (we shared). As for the tacos, my wife really ejoyed them—and I got a quick bite, and wow, they were tasty! We didn’t have time to try dessert, but that’s definitely on our list for next time. We’re already planning to go back!
