Good place had a good time we went for crawfish but unfortunately it got sold out due to someone having a party which sucked for us. But their other food was pretty good its a nice spot for games or a simple hang out

Velvet Oak Tavern had a really comfortable feel from the start. It was the kind of place where you can settle in, order a drink, and actually enjoy the evening without feeling rushed. The staff was friendly and kept an eye on the table without overdoing it. The food came out hot and tasted fresh, and the drinks were made well. I liked that it had a nice balance of casual and polished, so it worked for a relaxed dinner but still felt like a step up from the usual spots. I’d definitely come back.

I found Velvet Oak Tavern on a Sunday morning while searching Google for a good brunch spot. Upon entering, I was greeted by the bartender who also seated me and took my drink and food order. The restaurant has a nice setup, and I'm sure it's the perfect place to watch sporting events. My order was not exactly what they had on the menu. I added a twist to mine, and I can't exactly remember what myself and the bartender did. However, when it came out, it was phenomenal! I was very impressed! You know it's good when you are dancing in your seat to no music! I loved the outside patio with the view of the street. It's perfect for people watching. I did notice they offered a military discount as I was leaving, which was a letdown, because I didn't know that prior to paying. I also didn't like the automatic gratuity added without knowing. If I'm ever in the area again. I'd stop in again and definitely take advantage of that discount.

The name sounds like a nice English style pub. And it sort of appears so. First red flag: only car in lot. Walked in. Jukebox was on. Several things playing on tvs. Pretty normal. Second red flag: I don't know what's on draft. It changes too often. Third red flag: 1 person working, 3 patrons in whole place. Put Mr. Blue sky on jukebox. 20 seconds layer jukebox was killed and the volume of some hip hop dating show was cranked thru the ceiling and put on the main bar TV. Got food... a smaller sized portion you'd get on a Sonic $2.50 cheeseburger. Same quality. But fries were old. Burnt. Nasty. Only ate about half. $37 for 2 regular brewery draft pints and a generic quality burger melt. And being deafened by a reality dating show. Worst place I've ever been to in a very long time. Obviously did not want anyone except herself and the two other women to be in the place at all. Photo of dinner. They charged me $17 for that. Complete ripoff. 9 dollars for a pint a standard beer on draft. No specials or discounts. I really would recommend avoiding this place at all costs.

Came her for brunch with a group of friends and had a great time. Velvet Oak Tavern has an eclectic esthetic and is covered in squirrels. All the food we ordered was pretty good, but we all agreed that their waffles while giant and fluffy lacked some flavor. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and the chicken was moist and well seasoned, but the waffle needed some extra pizzazz or hot honey instead of just regular syrup. The staff was really nice but you could tell the place had opened recently because they were not knowledgeable about the menu. We would ask about items and then be told they weren't on the menu, but we read them off the menu to our server. Food came out at a decent pace. Overall, I'd try it again for their regular menu and drinks.
