The sole faults I can find with Smokin' Mirrors is that there is not a coat-hook in the lavatory, and if that sounds like 'praising with faint damnation,' it is. Smokin' Mirrors is incredible, and frankly I wish the likes of it existed where I live. The vibe is incredibly welcoming and openly LGBTQ+ friendly, and everyone I spoke with was very knowledgeable and kind, very good at soothing my anxiety about trusting someone with my hair. I look and feel much better than I did before Heather went to work on my head, and I'm so very glad for it. They offered free drinks! They sadly didn't have coffee, but did offer free beer. Texas is a hell of a place.

Geno is fantastic. I came in with an outgrown so-so cut, and Geno took the time to look at what I wanted, look at how my hair grows, and design a haircut that worked for me. He checked in repeatedly about how happy I was with the results. Now I have a great, low-maintenance, updated, elder-enby cut that I love. The facility is friendly and lively, with music that's not turned up too loud for conversation, and cheerful stylists who like what they do. And it's everyone-friendly. If you need to ask, then it's safe for you.

I had an excellent experience at this barbershop. From the moment I walked in, I noticed the warm, cozy atmosphere. The shop is well-maintained, comfortable, and kept at a perfect temperature, making the entire visit very enjoyable. The overall setting is inviting and thoughtfully put together. The staff truly stand out for their professionalism and friendliness. I want to give special recognition to Ang, who went above and beyond to help me. She took the initiative to come outside and inform me about the parking policy, ensuring I placed a cone behind my car to avoid being towed. She didn’t have to do that, but her willingness to help reflects exceptional customer service and genuine care for clients. My barber, Paige, was outstanding. She is an excellent communicator who really takes the time to listen and understand her clients. Not only is she skilled at her craft, but she also creates a comfortable environment where you can relax and even have a great conversation. Her sense of humor made the experience even better—she kept me laughing throughout the appointment. Overall, this was a five-star experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this barbershop to anyone looking for quality service and a welcoming environment. I will definitely be returning.

Firstly, so thankful that there’s a safe space for queer folks to comfortably get their hair cut! Everyone in the shop has such good energy and are so friendly. Lucas has been cutting my partner’s hair since we moved to Houston and he’s such a vibe and does such a great job! He really takes his time as he’s cutting and makes sure that you like what your haircut looks like! Def my partner’s only spot to get their haircut! 100% recommend!

This was my first time getting a haircut here and I was surprised by how friendly the staff was. You can tell the barbers get along and support one another where they can. My barber was the lovely Alejandro. The amount of attention he put into my cut to make sure I left with what I wanted was a pleasant surprise to me. Maybe its the shops that ive gone to before, but I always felt rushed through and coming away feeling like I didn't exactly get the cut I wanted. I stood up from the barber chair feeling very confident in myself and loving my new look.  I hope the owner is proud of the environment that was created here and the fellow barbers are proud of the work they do here. I will definitely be making my next appointment here. Keep up the work yall do! 5/5 stars
