Stop #7 on our Houston cidery & brewery exploration: Bad Astronaut Brewing Co. Love the space theme — “Houston, we don’t have a problem” with this one. A good selection of beer, plenty of room for large crowds, and lots to keep everyone entertained. Pool tables, foosball, ping pong, basketball hoops, and even air hockey make this a very family-friendly stop. Fun atmosphere, lively energy, and a great place to hang out for a while.

Last weekend, I attended a plant sale at Bad Astronaut. It was the perfect combination of Best beer and exotic plants. One of the vendors at Vicious Plants had the greatest collection of carnivorous plants.

The place had a nice atmosphere. Laid back and not many customers during days without events. The reason I gave a two star rating is due what is seemingly discrimination. I have read reviews that the pool is free ; however, I was told "its for customers." Okay understandable. But I was also told I had to leave my ID. I did not see the party before me give an ID and nowhere on the reviews do I see such requirements, nor have I ever been asked to "leave an ID" as well as purchase to play a game. I feel that this place may cater to certain types of people and maybe everyone isnt welcomed. I would not have mind just paying for the game since I dont drink, but the feeling of not being trusted and being required to leave an ID was very off putting. Especially, when others may play for free and none were required to pay and leave an ID. Seems like only some customers are required to follow these arbitrary rules. Maybe if you look a certain way or are a certain race you will receive the good customer service other reviews talk about, but if not maybe you receive the same type of customer service I received or others who have complained about their experience. Unfortunately, I wont be back and cant recommend this place as a result of this type of interaction and what appears to be discrimination. But I wish the owners well.

Good atmosphere with plenty to do. We usually go bc we're vendors at some of their shows. Good amount of people there. The beer is good according to my hubby, I've had some of their hooch drinks which are good. Only problem is it can be very hot in the taproom in summer afternoons and evenings, it does not have AC in there. The back room has AC but they only turn it on in summer, I believe.

Came here with the family to see Magnolia Park, great venue for the show. The choices of in house beer were great and reasonably priced. Food truck outside had smashburgers that tasted amazing with the beers (I had several of both the Fire Net and Absolute Legend).
