Wow, wow, WOW! 5 stars isn’t enough to represent how amazing Blood Bros food, service and hospitality was! We went looking for a unique BBQ experience while traveling Texas, and definitely found it here. We ordered a few things off the menu based on recommendations from the very knowledgeable staff. We very quickly ended up trying over half of the menu and blown away by all the bold yet unique flavours. Not one thing on the menu was less than fantastic and the experience was topped off by the amazing staff. We had the privilege of speaking to the owner and learning about their passion for food, community, and why Blood bros is so special. They are deserving of all the awards and I’m sure will receive many more for years to come. P.s they also have amazing merch too. We picked up a few tee’s and wear them all the time!
We dined at the Blood Brothers BBQ for the first time a few days ago. We had the briskets, pork ribs, and a side of collard greens. All the food items were okay. The collard greens came with a lot of chunky pork cuts that added a lot of flavor. The brisket was moist, smoky, and tasty with lots of salt and pepper seasoning, and so were the pork ribs. As one enters the restaurant, there is a line to order food: first choose your sides, then the meat, then pay for the order. They have cold beers by the side-order area, where you can pick up some brew. When I paid for my meal, the card payment screen asked for 15%, 18%, or 20% tips (it is a trick, and my bad for not picking up on it), and I gave them 15%. To me, this was unnecessary to tip as there were no services, as in a regular dining restaurant where they take your order and bring your food to the table. At BB BBQ, it's all counter service. This tipping episode ruined my experience of this place. I give them a 5 out of 5 for their food. I won't be going back there.
As our company travels all over north America, we are always excited to travel to Texas for the food. We can never pass up a highly rated BBQ spot and one that has an asian fusion? Count us in! We ended up getting a full rack of the gochujang glazed ribs! Those were so very good, a little dry but that glaze made up for it. We also got 2 pounds of brisket, it was perfectly juicy and seasoned. The Mac and cheese... just beware you'll end up eating it first without touching the rest of anything else so be prepared hah. The tater totoyaki was also very addictive. Basically everything here is good. I know im leaving a bunch of items out but at this moment im still in food coma.
Blood Bros BBQ was the first stop on our Houston Michelin Guide restaurant tour, and man, they set the bar high. They were short staffed so the service was a little slow, but the staff were awesome. They also did warn us that the service would be a little slower than normal. We had the smoked brisket and gai lan chow fun, along with the pho-strami sando. Both were excellent. The smoked brisket worked perfectly with the rice noodles, gai lan, bean sprouts, Chinese broccoli, onions, and fried onions. It had real depth from the smoke, but still felt bright and balanced from the stir-fry flavors. The pho-strami sando was also killer. Brisket cured and rubbed with pho spices, garlic chili aioli, fermented Vietnamese pho herbs, and grilled brioche. It was rich, spicy, messy in the right way, and had a ton of flavor without feeling like they were just trying to be clever. It worked so well with the dipping sauce combo. Knocked it out of the park. This is honestly some of the best food we’ve had in Houston so far. Not just great BBQ — great food. Blood Bros has that rare thing where the creativity actually makes the food better instead of distracting from it. Fantastic first stop on the tour. We’ll definitely be back.
expensive but good brisket! very soft. ribs were ok, probably would only get the sauced one next time as we did half without. brisket fried rice was not as good as i remembered. creamed corn is good. mac and cheese is ok, can be skipped
