A great experience, through and through! Arrived around 1 on a busy Saturday and was sat in 30 minutes. Walked to the Cottage Shop vintage boutique/thrift store across the parking lot and finding some great things while i waited. I was interested in the mimosa flight but ended up getting the fresh pressed juice with like strawberry and ginger in it. So refreshing and an amazing blend with no pulp and a nice foam on top. The banana and butterscotch pancakes were cooked well but not that flavorful in my opinion. The manager took them off the tab with no problem. Got the classic breakfast, eggs scrambled perfectly and flavorful, bacon was great, avocado was fresh. Sourdough was so fluffy and delicious. Service 10s, parking was relatively easy (both street, lot, and garage public parking). Parked in the garage and it was free! Such a cute restaurant too, I’ll be coming back with my girlfriends! $34 two pressed juices and a breakfast entree to split. Cute area but maybe 5/10 walkability.

I’ve only lived in Houston for about a week now and although I know that Houston has amazing food, my first few experiences had fallen short so I was really hoping for the best with this place. I did a random search for brunch in Montrose and decided to give it a shot. Citizen far exceeded my expectations! When we arrived we were greeted by Peyton who was super sweet and sat us quickly. From there we were served by Aubrey who was absolutely amazing! The energy Aubrey had definitely added to the overall experience, they went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied! I also need to shout out Yonnie who made my drinks at the bar, she handled my order with care and told me to let her know if everything was good, which it was! I ordered the mimosa flight and an espresso martini, and my bestie had the troublemaker martini. Fun fact, the martinis are $0.99 everyday after 3 with food purchase, one per customer. They have other weekly specials as well, so be sure to check out their menu! For food, I ordered the salmon benedict with mixed greens and my friend ordered wings. The music was good, and the vibes were top tier, I can’t say enough positive things about this place! I’ll be back soon! ❤️

Citizen of Montrose absolutely lived up to the hype. Every dish we tried was outstanding. The smoked salmon toast with perfectly poached eggs was fresh, rich, and beautifully balanced with the pickled onions. The shakshuka was packed with flavor, and the fresh, fluffy bread was perfect for soaking up every last bit of the sauce. Even the simple avocado with citrus dressing was incredibly fresh and delicious. The drinks were just as impressive—refreshing, well-made, and a great complement to brunch. A special shoutout to our server, Brey, who made the experience even better. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. Amazing food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

This is a beautiful breakfast spot with a great atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and the service is excellent. Even when the restaurant is packed, the food comes out surprisingly fast, which is something I really appreciate. The breakfast options are amazing, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Definitely one of my favorite places for breakfast. Highly recommended!

Yonnie was hands down the BEST server! It was me and my girls' first time here, and she made us feel more than welcome from the moment we walked in. Her personality was everything you could want in a server so friendly, genuine, and full of positive energy. We absolutely loved her vibe! Amazing service, amazing atmosphere, and an unforgettable first visit. We will definitely be back. If you come here, do yourself a favor and ASK FOR YONNIE! You won't regret it! 🤗
