We got there and "checked in" there was a wait so we went up the street to Velvet Oak Tavern for an appetizer. Got the call, rushed back and was NOT disappointed. We sat at the bar and Hope took great care of us. The food and drinks were amazing! I would absolutely come back! Do not let the wait discourage you from eating here. We will definitely come back! Food, drinks, service and atmosphere were amazing!

My wife and I wanted to try a new spot so we asked Google and The Sunrise House was first on the list, so we rolled with it. We live deep in Sugar Land, so this place wasn't close to us but it was definitely worth the drive. It's a smaller brunch spot, with an upbeat atmosphere. It was packed when we arrived which was a good sign. We had reservations but still had a shirt wait, no big deal. I forgot the Server's name, but he greeted us with a smile in timely fashion. He was attentive throughout our visit and very helpful. So overall, service was good. The food arrived in a timely manner as well. Everything looked and smelled so wonderful. The complimentary honey rolls were so good, very light and fluffy. My Chicken and Waffles was perfect. Not too much powder sugar on the waffles and made just how I like them. The Chicken was very good also, the batter was very flavorful and not overly done. Our Eggroll appetizer was definitely different, but they were just as good as everything else we ordered. Overall, we had a good visit. The reason for the 4☆'s is the parking situation and having to give a CC for a reservation. I didn't care for that at all. I've eaten at hundreds of restaurants across the globe and that was a first for me, and hopefully the last. As for parking, it's Valet. Granted it's only $6 but having the option to self park would've been nice. We'd definitely come back if we're in the area, but to drive out strictly to eat here, it's just too far for us. If youre craving a nice brunch in an upbeat spot though, in the Montrose area, then The Sunrise House is definitely worth a try.

My sisters and I had brunch on a Saturday during peak time at 11am. The staff were very accommodating because we did not make a reservation. The youngman was very pleasant in adding us to the list. Our waitress was very kind and helpful 😊 sorry, I don't remember her name. The food was delicious! I could tell everything was made fresh and with love. The grits were very creamy, fish fried crispy, bacon was out of this world good! Presented beautifully! We will visit for breakfast again.

Natalie was amazing! My cousin and I visited on a sunny Sunday while I was traveling from Virginia to spend time with family, and she made our experience so enjoyable. She was patient, charismatic, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The service was truly 10/10. (( they have complimentary butter croissants that are tasty )) I ordered the shrimp and grits and was a little nervous it might be too spicy, but it was perfect — just the right amount of Cajun flavor. I also tried the pineapple ginger immunity shot, which was refreshing and honestly perfect for a hangover! My cousin and I also shared San Pellegrino, which was nice also. Overall, we had a great time and felt really taken care of. I would definitely recommend asking for Natalie!

We were celebrating a birthday and we are not from Houston and found this place online. What a delight! Our waitress Kailyn was very knowledgeable and courteous. Since it was a first visit, she answered all our questions and offered suggestions! Kailyn's suggestions were TOP NOTCH. We loved our meals! I have to mention the hostess, Lydia. We did not have a reservation so we had a short wait on the comfortable couch in their small waiting area. The place was BUSY! Lydia was BUSY. She was ALL SMILES, never a cross word, or a mean face. She moved quickly and swiftly. We were tired just watching her, but she NEVER tired! A wonderful atmosphere!
