Vargas Morning Bloom Cafe is such a gem in the heart of the Northside. The location has such a warm, familiar feel that immediately makes you feel at home, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming. My husband ordered the chilaquiles, and we both agreed they were some of the best we’ve had in Houston. I had the chicharrón costra tacos, which were crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor. The café de olla was the perfect finishing touch and tasted like an abuelita hug in a cup. Great food, great service, and a true neighborhood feel. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I went on a Sunday around 1 pm for brunch. The location has little parking so plan on parking in a side street. We walked in with no wait. The owner was kind and let us take our time ordering. For drinks I had the choco-chata and my wife had the cafe de olla (both creamy but on the sweet side, which i personally like). We had to try the chilaquiles (I had mine with chorizo), and I was honestly impressed with how homemade it tasted. They advertise it as spicy, but it’s not that spicy if you regularly eat spicy food. A great place for a slow Sunday.

Went on a Sunday, got there before a big party, which honestly took up most of the seating. Luckily we placed our order before the big party. Unfortunately as a result we did have to wait a while for the food. Nevertheless, once I got my food it was delicious. I got the chilaquiles and added the fajita, the black beans was a good touch. I also got the cafe de olla which was tasty but did not like that refills were not included. The seating is not accommodating for busy weekends so get there early. The servers were nice. It’s a nice concept but again, be prepared to wait. Overall I would be back

Iced cafe de olla latte was wonderful! It had some grated orange zest, not too sweet, not too bitter, just overall wonderful. Service was great and welcoming. Chilaquiles were good.

The name caught my eye. Loved their story (which you can read on the back of the brochure), the vibe of the place, and the food was also filling. I came with my friend and we enjoyed our time! Definitely want to come OK a weekend to try out the specials.
