Stopped by for lunch and left completely impressed. The service here is genuinely friendly and fast – from the person taking my order to the team bringing out the food, everyone made me feel like a regular on my first visit. Now, the burgers: easily some of the best in Houston. I tried the Holy Cow – a house-made beef patty topped with candied bacon, a crispy hash brown, and American cheese. The patty was juicy, perfectly seared, and full of beefy flavor. The candied bacon added a sweet‑savory crunch, and the hash brown gave it a fun, satisfying texture. Also sampled the Spicy Chipotle Burger – great heat without overpowering the meat. Buns are soft and hold up to all the toppings. Curly fries and tater tots were hot, crispy, and well‑seasoned. Overall, Stanton’s is a no‑frills, old‑school joint that puts real care into its food. Great service, incredible burger quality, fair prices. Highly recommend for anyone craving a legit, satisfying burger in the Heights area. I’ll be back.

We were in the area so we stopped here for supper. They only have 1 large menu on a board behind where you order. We ordered the Holy Cow burger & the Shroom burger, onion rings & tots are extra. The burgers were about $13-14 each & the o rings & tots were $3-4 each. So for us 2 we spent $45, which is a bit for 2 meals & cokes. The Holy Cow burger was good & greasy. My husband liked his burger, he said it was ok. The o rings were nothing to write home about, just plain old onion rings. The tots had processed canned cheese on them. Blah. The employees there were really nice & friendly. Very helpful & a pleasure to deal with. There’s a handful of parking spaces out front other than that you park on the street. We probably won’t go back but it was worth a try.

Meh. Maybe the hype got into my head, but I was disappointed. Definitely not worth a visit. Just a regular burger joint. I ordered the cowboy brunch and my friend got the Spicy Chipotle. We cut them in half and shared. The cowboy brunch had a fried egg, fried pickles, grilled onions, bacon, American cheese, Swiss cheese, and all the fixings. Unfortunately, it was overwhelmed by two massive slices of Texas Toast. There is something to "burger/bun ratio". If every mouthful is 80% bread, the flavors do not come out. I honestly forgot that there was supposed to be fried pickles and grilled onions, because I never tasted any. Were they even in there? I honestly don't know. Also, the meat! These burgers are all advertised as 1/2 a pound! No way. There was simply not enough beef. I have had half pound burgers, these were smaller, no question. The giveaway, which I didn't think of until later, was the fact that they do not even ask how you want the burger cooked! There is no way to cook these medium or rare! They were just too small. They are all just cooked to well. Too thin for anything else, just like a fast food burger. My friends spicy Chipotle was better, because it had a regular size bun. The spicy Chipotle sauce was good and hot. We shared an order of onion rings, and they were good. Pretty heavy on the breading, but well made. I also had a cream soda, but here, again, I was disappointed. I read reviews that claimed they had a "gigantic cooler full of bottled sodas from yesteryear!" Not true. A very small selection. They have a machine with lots of options, just like the ones at all the other fast food burger chains, though, so that's nice. I love cream soda and various root beers, this one was good. Total price was $31.00. Sorry, but for burgers that were just ok, that is too much. We ARE talking about ground beef here. These are HAMBURGERS. I could get a massive spread of other types of food for that much. It just isn't worth it. Oh, and the parking IS terrible. No space. Be careful.

The Vibe: Total time capsule. Love the historic, old-school diner bar setup and cafeteria seating. The building speaks for itself, and the open kitchen is completely spotless and modern. The Food: Got the classic cheeseburger and fries combo ($20). The burger is a fantastic, high-quality, old-fashioned cheeseburger. No crazy gimmicks or fancy sauces, just incredibly fresh ingredients prepared with care. The only downside? The fries felt like standard frozen ones—this burger deserves fresh-cut fries! The Service: Absolute 10/10. The staff was incredibly welcoming to a first-timer, gave great future recommendations, and checked in on my meal while keeping the place immaculate. Solid food, fun atmosphere, and top-notch service. I totally get the hype and will definitely be back!

Still one of the best burger spots in the city! We had a spread of their massive Monster burger. Don't skip the waffle fries or the tater tots. What really sets them apart is the drink selection. They have a massive cooler filled with unique glass-bottle sodas you can’t find everywhere. If you’re looking for a brew, they have a solid lineup of local craft beers and imports to pair with your meal. Love the nostalgic diner vibe and fast service. A total Houston institution!
