After passing by multiple times we finally went to Trill Burgers on one of our recent trips to Houston. The menu is not complex; it is straight up burgers and fries, with vegan options. No matter the size of the menu, what they do is done well. The burgers are a crispy smash patty that pairs nicely with the soft bun. The fries are a great combination of crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We would definitely be going back.

My family and I visited on June 15, 2026, around 8:00 PM and were extremely disappointed. We ordered a triple burger and a single burger. The biggest red flag was that our food was handed to us almost immediately after ordering, making it obvious the burgers were not made to order. The burgers were warm instead of hot, greasy, and tasted old. The onions were not fresh, there was little to no burger sauce, and the processed cheese made the burgers overly salty. The fries were clearly frozen, not fresh-cut, and they were also warm rather than hot. The time of day should not matter—customers should receive fresh, hot food regardless of when they visit. Based on our experience, this place is all hype. The food quality did not meet expectations, and we would not return or recommend it to others. The attached photos document our experience and clearly show why we were so disappointed with the food quality.

Rude employees, it only became a Houston staple because of Speed. The burger is good because of the thin patties but they doesn’t live to the hype, especially the fries. The least they can do is have good customer service but they don’t even have that. I will say the lemonade is really good and they have good pickles, but they tax on the burger combos ( the lemonade does not come with the combo so it’s an extra $5). Your better off getting a burger else where. Hughie’s and Bodegas Taco Shop burgers are better options and cheaper.

We heard Trill Burgers had a fish sandwich, so we drove about 15 minutes out the way to try it. Lo and behold… we waited too late. It was for Lent, so we missed it. We had been waiting all day to eat and were starving, so we decided to finally try a Trill Burger. I got the vegan OG, and my girlfriend got the regular OG. I’m gonna be honest… it was not great at all. When it comes to a vegan patty, you have to season it. There was no seasoning, no flavor. All I tasted was grilled onions, bread, and cheese. I just don’t understand. And my girlfriend’s burger? I think they swapped her OG for a kid’s meal because the bread was really small and soggy. Now, I usually don’t like to complain...especially about thriving Black businesses. But the total for two burgers, fries, and lemonade was $50. That’s expensive, so for it to be underwhelming was disappointing. I just can’t understand what happened. I think people are hyping it up because it’s celebrity-owned. I’m sorry, it’s just my experience. Will I come back? No. Next year? Yes, when you get that fish sandwich, I’ll definitely be back for that. But the burgers were a flop.

Arguably one of the best smash burgers in town. The menu was very simple with just a few options and customizations, my kind of no frills menu. The OG combo is a hit - don’t pass up on the onions and pickles if I were you. The fries was very tasty but becomes saltier as you go. The sauce reminds me of Cane’s sauce - not bad.
