The vehicle I received was not clean. There was also tire damage I discovered on day 2 of the rental. The whole time I was driving on a very unsafe tire. They are not thoroughly cleaning or inspecting their own vehicles. The staff was ok. I did not inspect my rental car thoroughly enough so I suggest anyone spend at least 5 full minutes inspecting the vehicle and take pictures of anything unusual so you don't get blamed for something you didn't do. Email those pictures to Avis before you leave.

The worst service I ever received from Avis worldwide. In fact it was my worst experience ever at a car rental office. A very harsh welcome to start with from who identified herself as the Manager. Obviously not qualified for the job. When she discovered that my pre-paid reservation was for a small car she just said: we don't have any small cars, leave your phone number we'll call you if we have one. When I questioned the delay she said I don't know. When I explained that's all paid for she raised her voice saying I don't give my things for free! She offered a paid upgrade (+100% of what I paid) that I declined and she didn't care. I told that I'm going to wait a bit as it was raining and I needed to stop talking to her because I was super upset. She kept raising her voice talking to her team about clients naming them and saying things I cannot say in here. Disgusting. I can imagine what she said about me. After more than hour of waiting I asked someone else to give me a car I paid +50% for upgrade to have a +68K miles nissan with dead chocks, I was driving a basketball on wheels. Returned the car next day and went straight to Turo. Never gonna do this mistake again. For once, I was fouled by Google reviews as I was in a hurry I didn't dig as usual. Avis, you really need to review the videos of this location, you'll understand what I'm writing here.

First time I’ve ever heard in my decades renting at Avis that I had to make sure to not have crumbs in the car that I returned. Wow… I’m actually stun to silence. Who ever is in charge of this location do better.

I am not too sure of what’s going on at this location. However, the service is very poor. I’ve given this particular location the benefit of a doubt and way too many chances; I am left disappointed/dissatisfied every time. I have been a preferred member for over 10 years and have rented from Avis/Budget from all over our great nation. Unfortunately, this location has struggled for the past 2 years or so to provide their customers with proper and professional service. 1.) I’ve been rented a vehicle with expired tags 2.) I’ve reserved a vehicle only to arrive and was told the vehicle was not available for another hour or so (I didn’t receive a phone call, text message or email prior informing me of the changes to my reservation) 3.) I can not recall the last time I was greeted or even acknowledged upon entering to store (regardless if I am there to pick up a vehicle or drop off a vehicle) Most recently, on January 31, 2026, I arrived to drop off a vehicle. I was not greeted, asked if I needed assistance or anything upon entering the and approaching the counter (I was the only customer) As I informed the Avis rep. that I was returning a vehicle (with my CC in hand and view ready to pay), I provided her the rental keys. which at that point she stated that she needed to get the odometer read for the mileage. Once the Avis rep. reentered the store, No words were spoken (not how was the vehicle, etc) most importantly the Avis rep didn’t ask how I was paying, if I wanted to use the card on file, nothing (she communicated only with the worker who was sitting in the corner, the guy that cleans and gasses the vehicles if needed). It was if I didn’t exist, so much so, that she didn’t even give me the opportunity to tell her that I was using my credit card (which is 1 of 2 credit cards that I have on file on my preferred Avis account). She moved so quickly and with a strong sense of assumption that she processed the payment under the wrong account/card. I became aware of this when I made the attempt to hand her my credit card; which at that point she had began print the receipt while simultaneously “telling” me that it was already processed and there was nothing she could do. I continued to stand there politely and informed her that, that was not the card I wanted the payment to be processed on. She stated to me 3x’s in a row that it was already processed (I guess with the hopes of me letting it go and I did not). Magically, She was able to reverse to transaction and run the payment under the correct credit card. Of course there’s other details and irritants, however, I am already overly frustrated once again having to write this extremely long review. I rent with Avis often, however, I will not be renting from the westchase location until all Avis/Budget reps are replaced with kiosk or some sort. Ps. As of today 02/03/2026, I have a $112.97 payment processed on my credit card for the cost of the rental and a pending payment of $312.97 on my 2nd card that was used for the reservation. 3 days after returning the car and paying, Avis still has their hands/hold on $312.97 of my money (which has caused me a huge inconvenience due to the fact that is my rent money and I am unable to access it due to Avis having a pending transaction on it although they were paid in full 3 days ago. Now I will incur a late fee of $127 for my February rent… The 4.8 star review is 100% fraud or from the previous owners time frame (if that’s possible) most likely they are operating with fraudulent reviews from workers fake accounts, family and friends… (I use to work with Google reviews its very easy for a company to falsify and manipulate their reviews)

Would NOT recommend for work!! Rude and no respect for time!! They didn’t have the kind of car I selected, so they gave me a dirty electric vehicle with only 14 miles left on the battery. The only other option was a car with 4 miles left on the battery. I don’t have time to charge the car before meetings, and they told me if it dies, it has to be towed at my expense. The checkout process was incredibly frustrating even if I look past the dirty and not-ready-for-use car. The guy at the counter wasted a lot of my time because I booked through a travel agency, which is REQUIRED by my work. He spoke to me as if I were trying to somehow scam them. I have never had this problem with any of the rentals I’ve had from National, Enterprise, Budget, Hertz, or even other Avis locations. He made me late to my meetings over nonsense! And then when he updated my TX address and saw my NC license (we just moved), he laughed at me! I can’t believe this location has positive reviews. Maybe it’s because of the $10 discount they offer.
