This is an horrible story about a rental car. I rented a car in Oakland. The car was not clean, it smell like smoke and we had kids. Nonetheless, we kept it and we return it a week later in LA. Budget charged us additional USD 100.00 without any reason. I disputed wiith the credit card and we won and they have to credit us back this USD 100.00. It was not enough. After 2 weeks, they came up with USD 250.00 charges as cleaning fee (for sands???) as a revenge. DO NOT USE THEM. IT IS A SCAM.

I've rented from this location on a number of occasions and always have a great experience. The staff is kind, quick and knowledgeable. Gina in particular is always super pleasant and helpful. My go-to rental spot in the area! Update 3/6/26 Every time I rent from this location the service is impeccable. Gina is still here and is always super kind and helpful

This is the worst place to rent a car! We prepaid for a car to pick up today at 8 and they called me that the car is not available at 8:10 when I was just in front of their office just to pick up the car. Why do they take money in the first place if they cannot provide the service? The person in the office cannot fix anything. After a lot of harassment the customer care service (we had to call!) referred us to the hobby airport. There is no apology, let alone the compensation for so many uber ride. I hate budget and will never book any rental ever here. While we were leaving, we found 4 other people having the same issue!
