Aside from being the premier caterer in Houston, Elizabeth has some of the most delicious prepared foods in her charming shop. Today we had a new item - home made truffled potato chips. Sometimes truffle oil can be overpowering. Not with these. These chips are perfect - the truffle oil, the salt, and the crunch. And the crunch. Why did we finish them in the car! We also picked up the chicken pot pie, so good that I don't need to make it at home. And, fair warning about the chocolate chip cookies. Elizabeth, please sell them in a 25-pack. The four I had were not enough. Buttery, crunchy, chocolaty perfection!
By far the best caterer in all of Houston. They will literally go out of their way for any of your catering needs. The staff is very accommodating and very thoughtful they bring everything they need and always remember to leave the event cleaner than when they arrive. Truly an amazing catering company.
5 stars well deserved for this business Silver Stone is Great! I love how they care about the details of making the boxes of food with adding colors with the paper and nice napkins and the food tastes delicious 😋 so please if you are looking for a gathering company choose them . Every penny you spend is worthy because the do an excellent job . Also is always great to support local businesses. You want your party to be great they are perfect. I highly recommend this business.
***Please note*** This review is for Silver Stone Food Shop only. We have never used their catering services. My husband stopped by a few days before Christmas and bought a chicken pot pie, a sausage and fontina quiche, a small cherry cobbler and a small blackberry cobbler for a small holiday gathering at our home. Almost $80 worth of food and none of it was remotely good. The quiche was so dry and rubbery. It was as if they baked it in a microwave. We ended up throwing most of it away. We attempted the chicken pot pie and the flavor was there, but it was dry and heavy. No liquid or creaminess at all. The cobbler was the same...dry, heavy, and stale. Shouldn't a cobbler and a pot pie have some juice or liquid to it??? Honestly, we would have been better off visiting the frozen food section of our local grocery store. With all the competitive food offerings in Houston, this place will go out of business in no time if this is what they are peddling to the public. I was embarrassed that I served this to my guests instead of cooking something myself. So, fair warning...if you are tempted to try this place, keep looking. There is a plethora of good food in Houston, but you won't find it here.
When my father unexpectedly passed it was - and still is- the hardest time of my life. Planning for a funeral service so soon after was not easy. Elizabeth at Silver Stone took a huge weight off of my shoulders. When I emailed her, recommended by Bradshaw Carter, Elizabeth quickly replied and put together a wonderful menu and description of services. She was very accommodating with my changes to the menu. Everyone at the reception enjoyed the food and we had a lot leftover. Excellent service and very reasonable prices. Thank you.
