I had a great experience dining here. A few things I loved: Plenty of parking Beautiful wall art Extensive menu options Menu with images Good service Delicious food It was my first time, and as a first timer I had a lot of questions and didn’t know where to start, but our server was very helpful and gave us excellent recommendations. We ordered : Dan Dan Noodles 8/10 Bok choy and mushrooms 8/10 Kung Pao chicken 9/10 Dry fried green beans 9/10 The food looks beautiful and tastes even better, I loved they present the food very pretty. Oh! And The portions are shareable too! I will definitely come back , there is a garden on the side that looks very pretty when you are dining inside, maybe next time if the weather is nice we can sit outside:)

Interesting find in the Houston Midtown area. Sichuan cuisine is highly regarded in China due to its distinctive flavors and ingredients. Mala Sichuan Bistro does it justice by providing an authentic dining experience. The food is insanely good, well-cooked and full of unique flavors. The duck I had here was among the best I ever had in any Chinese restaurant period. The added spices and peppers made an already delicious taste even better. Mala Sichuan also serves popular Sichuan snacks/appetizers and I definitely recommend grabbing some. The garlic cordyceps and the sweet brown sugar rice cake were very tasty. They also sell alcohol, mostly eastern Asian but you also have the choice of western wine/beers. The eastern Asian beer in my opinion paired very well with the food. This restaurant has a second floor, so it has space and it’s the perfect place to have a nice dinner.

Best sichuan food in Houston in my opinion. Great flavors and friendly staff. Portion size is generous. We always get the hot and spicy chicken, spicy beef and cordyceps. We got the red oil dumplings and salt and pepper prawns this time which were perfect. We cant wait to go back.

I thought that it being in the michelín guide was going to be overhyped. I was wrong. Go here, if youre in-between this and another restaurant go here. Best sichuan in Houston. The dan dan noodles were delicious. The tofu fish pudding (mapo tofu with fish) and the beef pot and wontons were amazing. We also had a crab and asparagus soup that was also delicious.

I had a great dining experience here and will definitely be back. From the moment we arrived, everything made a positive first impression. There was plenty of parking, the restaurant was beautifully decorated with eye-catching wall art, and the menu was extensive with helpful photos of many dishes. As first-time visitors, we had quite a few questions and weren't sure where to begin, but our server was incredibly helpful and provided excellent recommendations that made ordering easy. We tried the Dan Dan Noodles, Bok Choy with Mushrooms, Kung Pao Chicken, and Dry-Fried Green Beans. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. The Kung Pao Chicken and Dry-Fried Green Beans were particular standouts, and the portions were generous enough to share. One thing I really appreciated was how thoughtfully the food was plated. Everything looked as good as it tasted, which made the meal feel even more special. There's also a lovely garden visible from the dining room that adds to the atmosphere. It looked like a wonderful place to sit outside, so hopefully next time the weather cooperates and we can enjoy a meal on the patio. Overall, a fantastic first visit, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to explore more of the menu.
