First time visiting Mein, and it lived up to its reputation. We had the wok-seared liver as the appetizer, then for the main entrees we had the Chive flower squid shrimp and the Char kuey teow (stir-fried flat rice noodles with prawns, squid, Chinese sausage, bean sprouts, egg, and chives). The liver was well done, as stated on the menu, and it was stir-fried in a light soy sauce and garnished with ginger, green onion, and cilantro. This appetizer goes really well with a nice cold beer! The entrees were really tasty and had a strong smoky flavor from the hot wok. The service was prompt, even though at lunchtime the restaurant was about 80% full. We will go back to try more dishes.

this place is going to become a regular spot for my husband and I, the beef hor fun is delicious, but so is everything else we've tried already. smashed cucumber is very good, and the lava toast is a must if you have a sweet tooth like me

The food is so terrible! Don’t eat here! 2 noodle + 1 dish was $70. The noodle was not even cooked?! Inside center still white and tastes like fresh dough and sticky! $21 for chive shrimp squid. The top Michelin Chinese restaurant serving the same dish in LA, $24 and cooked with much better ingredients. Also, basically no service was provided. How come this restaurant is still open? A $2 bag ramen tastes better than this stuff.

This Cantonese family style restaurant offers a wide selection of options at a relatively moderate price point. The servers were very nice and attentive in explaining options and checking in on our table. The char siu was very flavorful and was plated with bitter greens that complimented the meal. The firecracker chicken had missing elements in its flavor, not spicy or rich. The entree portions were good but it’s interesting that a family style Chinese restaurant to offer only a single small bowl of rice and charge an additional dollar for a staple part of family style.

Love this place. Everytime we're in Houston we stop by. The scallian beef and beef fried rice is too good. Also tried the flat noodles and char siu this time and it was very good. Highly recommend this place and will be returning.
