Stopped by for the first time to get roast pork over rice. The pork was pretty good. The skin was incredibly crispy. The sauce and chili oil paired with the rice incredibly well. The best part of the meal was the rice at the end that was soaking up all of the flavor from the pork and sauce. Portion for the large box was very generous ($15.75). The size of the container for their small size seemed very small for the price. Overall, it was a nice lunch, I’d come back to try their other meat.
After Sui Lap City changed ownership, the food quality has noticeably declined. We ordered the roasted pork. While the flavor was still decent, the meat tasted like it had been reheated, which was disappointing. Sui Lap City used to be a hidden gem in downtown Houston, but unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Based on this experience, we don't think we'll be coming back.
Super generous portion! Ordered roasted pork belly and duck, they were crispy and flavourful, definitely well marinated!
Super good food, Portion size was huge. I loved the pork belly it was well made and juicy with a nice flavor. One of the better meats I’ve had for such a good price. Staff was friendly great spot.
Good value Chinese BBQ restaurant that offers all the classic choices and the ability to pick multiple in a single plate. It’s definitely not the best I’ve had, the BBQ pork was on the drier side and the sauces are all extra, but for the variety you get it’s good if you want a wide spread for a plate. The portion size was good for the price, although the portions of meat were not even (I definitely got more BBQ Pork than duck). Decent amount of indoor seating.
