Stopped by for the first time to get roast pork over rice. The pork was pretty good. The skin was incredibly crispy. The sauce and chili oil paired with the rice incredibly well. The best part of the meal was the rice at the end that was soaking up all of the flavor from the pork and sauce. Portion for the large box was very generous ($15.75). The size of the container for their small size seemed very small for the price. Overall, it was a nice lunch, I’d come back to try their other meat.

This place is really good! I’m glad it’s so close to me rather than having to drive to Chinatown for some quality roast pork and cha siu . The meat is flavorful and not dry and even when I went during the evening the food was delicious . They give you massive portions too. I found my new favorite bbq spot and luckily it’s not that pricy. Highly recommend and I’ll be back and sharing with others .

After Sui Lap City changed ownership, the food quality has noticeably declined. We ordered the roasted pork. While the flavor was still decent, the meat tasted like it had been reheated, which was disappointing. Sui Lap City used to be a hidden gem in downtown Houston, but unfortunately, that's no longer the case. Based on this experience, we don't think we'll be coming back.

I been coming here for a few months now to get my Chinese bbq fix and can now confidently give a clear and honest review. The prices are a bit higher than most other spots, but is located in downtown and they offer a good variety of food options. They redo the menu prices and options around the beginning of June 2026, but this is definitely recommended as a lunch spot, the food tends to be stale by the end of the day. I always get the 2 bbq item combo and get soy milk. ~18.00 USD for the price, it's not the cheapest in Houston, but they have no competition in the area, so it's fine. Auntie in the front does her best and the other staff are approachable. Not as cheap as it used to be, but still decent for the price.

Super generous portion! Ordered roasted pork belly and duck, they were crispy and flavourful, definitely well marinated!
