Coffee is part of who I am, so I take my spots seriously. Luce Coffee Roasters delivered. First visit warm welcome, super clean space, easy parking. Ordered a vanilla oat milk latte… outstanding. Smooth, balanced, done right. Shoutout to Jace & Lenna great service. Simple, quality, and worth coming back.

I've just started coming to Luce because I heard from a friend how great the coffee is and my first and second experience were fantastic. My current fav is the Matcha Latte. However I don't enjoy all the animals that come in and out. 🐕

The place was very dirty upon my last visit, with dirty tables, and no attempt to clean them between customers. There were some 5-10 minute gaps where that could have easily been done. And, the ladies room was closed, the men’s bathroom was filthy. Again, plenty of time to check between guests. As for the service, the guy who took my order was really nice, but the barista/manager was rude. I was feeling low blood sugar effects and they were mostly out of food, so I asked for honey on the side with my unsweetened (as I like it) cold brew. He emphatically said “No!”, they can only dissolve it in hot water and put it IN the coffee. Huh? I thought honey was liquid? So I asked for just a shot glass of “dissolved” honey on the side. NO! I was obviously willing to pay extra, and I mentioned my low blood sugar. NO! This same guy went out and brought back a bunch of bananas about 45 mins later. Did he mention that to me since I was working and didn’t see them immediately? NO! I bought one for $1 after he’d left.

★★★★★ Luce has been my every-morning stop for a quad classic macchiato, and today marks my two-year anniversary of coming here. They have the best team—always greeting everyone with a smile and a cheerful “good morning.” Trust me, it’s the best coffee on Washington Avenue. It’s conveniently located inside the Modera building on Washington Ave. Highly recommend!

Tried a chai latte, which was solid and had good spice flavor Jason the manager was super nice but the other bartenders weren’t particularly chatty (asked a question but got ignored). The indoor is clean and modern and still looks almost newly built. There’s street parking right in front. While Luce has plenty of charging plugs, good lighting, and wifi, I found their seating (on wooden benches or hard chairs) uncomfortable for longer periods. This can be easily mitigated by bringing your own pad but I thought it’s worth mentioning for those looking to study / work here.
