Super cute interior, with limited seating! The menu is pretty vast, the baristas are very educated and a great help when deciding on drinks. The Houston oilers matcha was amazing! Drinks aren’t super sweet and very well balanced. They also have pre bottled drinks to purchase as well

This is the perfect spot for a coffee date! The vibe is sexy, the music is a vibe, the bar feels like an actual bar but it’s actually just coffee drinks. The lounge space is secluded and intimate. On top of that it’s right in between two restaurants and near many others and the museum district, so if the coffee date is going well, it can easily transition to the more. I had an incredible matcha and will be back soon for more.

So exited for indoor seating at their new location. From my experience I really like how well every person that has helped me explains their beverages. They were temporarily inside a barbershop in the heights and recently relocated to south montrose. The OG is my favorite drink and go to. I have also tried others including the Thai matcha. All of the drinks here are poured with oat milk. The stand out IT factor is that they do have ready to go bottles of their staples.

Overall: this is a wonderful addition to the Houston Coffee scene. It compliments the existing white, beige, bright atmospheres at nearby shops, by having a dark, academia, haunted, greenhouse energy. Service: Their staff were knowledgeable and kind. They brought the coffee to my table and had a wonderful presentation for pourover. Taste: 1) my wife typically likes a 3/4 sweet drink, so her iced latte was a bit too sweet, so I’d advise stating such. 2) I love a clean bright light roast pourover. This was clean but rather darker than I desired. I’d estimate it is a solid medium roast, which to me feels tasty but a bit overdeveloped for pourover. Perfect for espresso based drinks though. This seems to track with their branding though, as their coffee bag designs seem to suggest a medium roast. (I tried the “Columbia Palmedo”) Atmosphere: the vibes were peak. The vinyls were hitting. They have fantastic speakers and sound insulation. It’s a bit loud, but it’s functioning to outplay the sounds of loud conversation in such a tight space. You could fairly easily talk over it but definitely had to be within 2-3 feet of your listener. That said, you could still feel the bass in your chest. I’d turn it down a bit (10-20%). Their decor though is unmatched, beautiful. Comfortable seating, very well paired with the vibes. Overall, this is the go to place for vibes, especially iced latte drinkers wanting a trendy place. As for the ultra modern light roast people, I’d still recommend BlendIn for their beans due to Xela’s medium roast profile.

Located inside the Barber Shop. I was a bit confused finding it but asked a couple as they were leaving if XELA Coffee Roasters was inside and they confirmed. Ordered the Valley Girl for myself and Thai Matcha for my friend. The drinks are great. I’d just maybe put up a sign for customers so we can have an easier time finding it.
