I will say, the coffee from this shop is definitely different from the surrounding ones. It’s still incredible tho! I liked the rustic style it has, gives me vibes to that of a beer garden or cozy tavern. It is quite small tho, so it feels crowded fairly quickly. If you are looking for a spot to read or study, check out another shop or try your luck on a weekday afternoon. Also, it is cheaper than the surrounding coffee spots.
Chill place for a really good cup of coffee. The friendly barista made my Americano just right and I enjoyed a jalapeno cheddar scone with it. The calm atmosphere is a refreshing change from the hectic city life. Parking is free and around back. Highly recommend!
Catalina Coffee is one of those spots that immediately feels dialed in—from service to coffee to overall vibe. If you appreciate high-quality coffee done right, this is your place. Rwandan blend (Gold Cup pour-over) Hibiscus tea Oatmeal cranberry cookie The standout was the coffee. The Rwandan blend through the Gold Cup pour-over was clean, balanced, and full of nuanced flavor. You can tell there’s real attention to sourcing and preparation—it’s the kind of cup that makes you slow down and actually enjoy it. Order Summary: - Rwandan pour-over: excellent — clean, balanced, and well executed - Hibiscus tea: great — a little tart, but not in a bad way - Oatmeal cranberry cookie: excellent — moist, flavorful, and cooked perfectly Service was a highlight. Friendly, genuine, and backed by real knowledge of the menu. Recommendations felt intentional, not forced, which elevated the whole experience. Value is exceptional for the quality you’re getting, especially considering the level of care put into the coffee. The vibe is where this place really lands—modern, comfortable, and easy to settle into whether you’re working or just relaxing. Parking isn’t perfect, but manageable for the area. Final verdict: A high-quality coffee spot that actually delivers on both product and experience. This is the kind of place you wish you had back home. Crave Factor: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (Would absolutely come back—this is a go-to spot) P.S. Went back a few days later and had the Gold Cup Rwanda again. This coffee is absolutely a show stopper. Well done, Catalina. Now, open one in Boise, ID 😁
A cute and bustling coffee shop. Serves a small selection of pastries. Their chocolate croissant was about $4.50 and relatively medium sized. I also got their ice chai latte ($5) which was pretty decent. The place is noisy with Spanish music, people, and sounds of coffee machine. Barista was friendly. Bathrooms were clean. Plenty of seating albeit nothing comfy. There is NO wifi and NO power outlets. Not ideal for studying unless willing to use Hotspot or sit near the bathrooms to connect to the Sawyer Yard WiFi. Great for a quick meet up with friends.
I love Catalina! They serve Amaya roast which is amazing this place also is a little sentimental for me, I opened up a brick and mortar retail business in 2017 and this was the only coffee shop in the area at the time. Their coffee filled me and my dreams for almost 10 years! Don’t get me started on the pastries, absolutely perfect. My favorite drink here is actually a black coffee drip. A mole seating inside, free parking. Eclectic crowd.
