I would strongly discourage anyone from supporting this studio based on the way we were treated this evening. My boyfriend and I parked in what we genuinely believed was a parking space on the right side of the studio (A space NOT reserved for the studio) while we ran into another business in the same shopping center. We were gone for maybe seven minutes. When we returned, another car had parked behind us, blocking us in. It was an unfortunate situation, but we understood we’d simply have to patiently wait for the driver to come back. Instead, the woman who had parked behind us and who appeared to work at the studio came outside and immediately started screaming at us. She called us obscene names, yelled profanities, and reacted as though we had done something malicious instead of making an honest mistake. She continued screaming as she walked back inside and even flipped us off. Absolutely wild overreaction and honestly scary behavior and temper. To make matters worse, several other people inside the studio were standing at the window laughing while this was happening (nice, right?). The entire interaction was so over the top that multiple bystanders came over afterward to ask if we were okay and what had happened. Mistakes happen. If we parked somewhere we shouldn’t have, a simple conversation would have solved the issue. There was absolutely no reason to scream, curse, insult us, or create such a hostile scene. Needless to say, this studio seems to foster a very unprofessional and unwelcoming environment. And for anyone planning to visit, parking is evidently limited (lol)

Our experience with Vivien at the Kirby location was wonderful. She creates a welcoming and supportive environment, and we’re excited to continue taking dance classes with her. We highly recommend her to anyone just starting out.

Consistently wonderful experience at the West U studio. Teachers are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, encouraging and fun. Progress every class. I love being part of this joyful and happy environment! Thank you to all 😊💕

These studios seem like scams (look at Reddit). I took a class through ClassPass that was Ballroom Classics. The most basic moves were taught for 20 minutes (with little instruction about proper arm technique or head tilt - just the foot steps). And then they taught a Thriller line dance for 20 minutes. I was confused why this was taught in a Ballroom class until they said they planned for their members to perform the line dance at their Halloween party and solicited us to sign up to be a member. The class was only 40 minutes and I only learned the bare basics of Foxtrot. I think this is their scheme to get you to attend more classes because the pace is incredibly slow. If you want to advance in ballroom skills, this is not the place.

Fred Astaire Dance Studios - West University is the perfect place if you love to dance or simply want to give it a try. It is full of fun, passionate, and talented instructors who are dedicated to making their students better while having a great time. Personally, I have seen my dancing ability improve exponentially and look forward to class every day. I strongly recommend stopping by the studio as my review cannot accurately describe how fun the classes are, how beautiful the studio is, and how much the instructors care about their students.
