Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious! We started with the tartar, the escargots, the foie gras, and the chèvre chaud salad—all of them were amazing. For the mains, the mushroom ravioli was an absolute "wow" moment; the sauce was pure perfection. The mussels were also delicious. The risotto was my least favorite of the night, but it was still very tasty! To finish, the apple tart for dessert was to die for. I highly recommend checking this place out! A small tip for the restaurant: It’s time to upgrade the physical menus. The quality of the printed menus doesn't match the high quality of the dishes, and it's the very first impression you give to your guests!
This is my first time here and it was spectacular. The lobster bisque was rich and creamy and full of lobster flavor with some lobster chunks. This was my first time daring to try beef tartare and it was a gamble I won because the appetizer was absolutely stunning, best way to describe it is a beef ceviche 9/10 because it needed 1 more piece of toast lol. The salmon dish was amazing and they asked me how I wanted it prepared. It was earthy and deep full flavored although if I being really picky it needed a bit of acidity in the dish somewhere but still 9/10. The beef burgundy dish was amazing as well, rich, deep, everything you want in this recipe 10/10. Food came out super fast and service was attentive but not smothering. Fancy and business casual. Will come back again.
My first brunch at Étoile Cuisine et Bar felt like a little trip to France without leaving Houston. The coq au vin was rich and comforting, the foie gras absolutely delicious, and the hospitality from Chef Philippe made the whole experience feel warm and personal. Elegant without being pretentious — exactly the kind of French dining experience I was hoping for.
I came here for brunch to celebrate my birthday and it was a lovely time. We had reserved outdoor seating and were the only ones on the patio. The waiter adjusted the umbrellas around us to maximize the shade a couple times. I ordered the charity brunch, which was a 3-course menu with bisque, cassoulet, and crème brûlée for $38 which I thought was a great deal. We also ordered a few appetizers including escargot, ravioli, and mussels. Everyone loved the portioned bread rolls. The food was really good overall and the service was excellent.
Me and my family dined at Etoile for the first time last night and had an amazing experience. Our server, Didier, was amazing, incredibly pleasant, attentive and accommodating throughout the evening. The food was delicious, the drinks were excellent and the restaurant itself was beautiful. We will definitely be back.
