I’m very disappointed with how much this YMCA has declined. The main reason I became a member was because it was the only YMCA in the Houston area with a dedicated Women’s Wellness Center. Getting rid of it took away a feature that made this location unique and welcoming for many women. I’ve also noticed that staff no longer consistently enforce the rules, especially in the pool and steam room areas. There are posted rules about not wearing shoes in the steam room, but they’re often ignored without staff stepping in. It makes the facility feel less clean and less well-managed. Overall, the quality of this YMCA has gone downhill. Between removing the Women’s Wellness Center and the lack of rule enforcement, it no longer offers the experience that justified my membership. I hope management listens to member feedback and brings back the features and standards that made this location stand out.
Super nice facility! Huge bball courts, a lot of workout equipment, nice running/walking track, pool and sauna are great! Always clean and staff is friendly and helpful. I love the classes they offer! The only thing is the parking can be hard in the garage during peak times (as with anywhere downtown)
I was as a tourist in Houston for a week and my 11 yrs old son trained in this facility on the basketball court for an hour . Facility was really good. I highly recommend for tourists to use this facility if they gotta train during their holiday. It has a parking lot as well. But i suggest the supervisors of this facility to pay cash for the parking fee. Everybody using e sim when they are abroad as they are cheaper. Love the facility . Houston community has to feel themselves lucky and blessed .
It is outstanding I used to go there to lift weights run on their indoor track and ride their exercise bicycles. Are ran in the YMCA Jingle Bells 5K run when it was sponsored by enron. I had to what most of the way but I was able to finish. I had to walk most of the way but was able to finish
Really clean and well-equipped gym. The staff is friendly and the equipment is well maintained. Best gym I've been to in the area.
