Blodgett Food Hall has become one of those spaces in Third Ward that I have genuinely enjoyed watching grow. Located right in the heart of the community, close to Texas Southern University and not far from the University of Houston, this space has the potential to be so much more than a place to grab food. It is a community space, and you can feel the effort being made to serve the people around it. I want to give a special shout out to Jacob and the entire team for the work they are putting into this space. I have known Nick (head of house) for a couple of years now, and watching his growth has honestly been one of the highlights for me. He has developed such a strong gift for working with people and communicating with the community. He is detail oriented, driven, and always striving for excellence. He has become one of those familiar faces that helps give Blodgett its personality. I also have to recognize Brother Elijah on maintenance. Every time I see him, he seems to be moving with purpose. Whether he is keeping things together inside the building or making sure the flower beds and exterior spaces are looking good for the community, he does it with a smile and a charisma that lifts the atmosphere. That matters. I have watched Blodgett Food Hall evolve over the years, and I appreciate the genuine effort to connect with and serve Third Ward. The food options continue to make the space interesting, and I am especially excited to see how leadership continues bringing more food businesses into the building that speak directly to the culture, creativity, and appetite of this community. To Jacob, Nick, Brother Elijah, and the entire Blodgett team, thank you for creating a space where people can come together, eat, work, connect, and share community. It is an honor to sit in this space and watch it continue to develop. Five stars across the board.

This is contactless food hall. Mostly doordashers and people on-the-go. The concept kitchen has various "vendors" who all have similar food. I got Big Daddy's Hawaiian BBQ. If you are hungry and there's nothing else to eat, you can eat that and you will be sustained. It wasn't good, but it was food.

This review is about Big Daddy’s Hawain bbq: I ordered my first meal for their restaurant selection and very disappointed. I was ripped off for amount I paid $18.65 and waited 35 minutes for one single chicken bowl. The chicken portions did not match images displayed on their menu’s. The portion size was that considered to feed a 5 year old. First, rice & macaroni is nothing but starch and available in abundance in the world but yet you served in such small portions. Especially with the chicken (protein) which was so small it was pathetic but yet you also charge an extra $8.00 for extra but the regular portion was less than the images on your regular sized bowls. Clear you ripped me off for $18.65. Quality was not all that, and it was disgusting to noticed you placed a sauce container inside my food bowl in the middle. That plastic container can have germs on it. Very disappointed at Big Daddy’s Hawain bbq And nothing big about it.

Unique food hall concept. Just as it says on website, “Many restaurants, one roof.” You walk-in and there is a clean dining area. Online orders pick up at a window. Or, you can go to a kiosk that displays a variety of menus such as Polynesian, Indian, African, Mediterranean, Chinese, Mexican, burgers, pasta and more. There are cultural drinks to go with each particular cuisine also. I was skeptical about the quality but we all really enjoyed our food and it was affordable too! Good to know since we have a son who attends a nearby university. We did not talk with any customer service people but we saw others being attended with no problem. Also, the atmosphere was calm and clean. Had some music in the background while we waited. Go check it out!

I recently tried Whiz Wit Cheesesteaks, Toasty’s Breakfast Burritos, and Mad Dogs for the first time, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. • The Mushroom Cheesesteak from Whiz Wit Cheesesteaks wasn’t toasted as requested, had no mushrooms, and was missing cheese altogether. The Philly Steak Egg Rolls were cold when I picked them up, and the cheese was also cold and not up to par. • The Steak & Egg Breakfast Burrito from Toasty’s Breakfast Burritos was very dry. The bacon was overcooked, and the tater tots inside were extremely hard, making the burrito tough to eat. • The Elote Hot Dog from Mad Dogs was cold — not even warm — which really took away from the flavor. We had to warm up them food when we got home but the taste just wasn’t good. This was my first time trying these places, and it was truly disappointing to have such a poor experience. I won’t be giving any stars for Food, Service, or Atmosphere. I can’t speak much on the atmosphere since I ordered takeout, but based on my overall experience, it didn’t leave a positive impression. When customers are spending their hard-earned money at your establishment, there is a clear expectation for quality. We have to do better. Unfortunately, based on this visit, I won’t be giving them another chance.
