Beautiful hidden course in the middle of not so good area of town. Beautiful greens and fairway. Took son to play a practice round for tournament. Didn't know they won't let parent play with child. I know it's a private club but why open to tournament if parent can't play practice round w kid.

I played at Westwood for the first time today. The course is in a rougher part of houston but once you arrive on course property you immediately forget where you’re at. The club has on prem security and a gate. The club house is very well done and extremely well maintained. The course was in great condition. The tee boxes and fairways were all well manicured with no dead patches of grass. The bunkers were always tidy and raked albeit the sand a little firm for my taste. The greens were in great shape - looked like tiff eagle - which were cut a tad high (played mid week - maybe that’s why) with a stiffer grain but rolled nicely. I thought the layout not too interesting - a lot of holes run together and don’t standout. You play a couple holes, then turn 180 degrees and play a couple more coming back. Like that for most of the round. Not much water in play except for a few holes. All in all a diamond in the rough. Lucky members here.

Played practice round for open qualifier and the greens are perfect. They put true and fast. Wonderful club house and locker room staff was super nice. Can't wait to tee it up monday.

Wonderful, traditional golf course in the heart of Houston. Very well maintained, and top notch experience overall.
