Visiting from Dallas, we booked a Saturday round at Wildcat - Highlands. I was pleasantly surprised by how pristine the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were. It’s a challenging track that forces you to play smart and focus on placement rather than just hitting away. The green fees were a little on the high side, but given the fantastic conditions, it was well worth the stop.

We played the Highlands course and the layout is challenging and great. Greens were somewhat slow and there were many blind approaches as well as tee boxes where there was a long carryover to get to the fairway so it is not for beginners. Middle of fairways were wide although beyond the first cut your ball is lost. Accuracy from the tees and fairways is rewarded with soft greens but I do not recommend playing this course when it is cart path only.

Nice course. We played the Lakes course, which does have a lot of water making it challenging for me (since I'm not that good). The golf carts are newer electric and won't let you go in certain areas. The carts will tell you if you are "playing too slow" even if no one is waiting behind you. The marshals also harass you about pace of play even if no one is waiting for you. It was not worth the $140 (weekend rate). It's well maintained, but the people running it have their head up their rear about how to provide a good experience. I won't be going back.

I had never been to Wildcat. I was invited by a friend to play in a fundraiser. Right from the start, I liked this place. The staff are very professional and helpful. Our round was on the Highlands. The course was in perfect condition. The course has so much character. A couple of blind shots so be aware. Greens are huge and roll real true. I highly recommend playing this course if you haven’t already.

Nice course. Greens were really slow. The putting green was much slower than the greens. Tee boxes were very nice and so were the fairways. Greens were very nice just slow. Par 5’s were very quirky. Number 9 I had to hit iron off the tee. You should never have to hit an iron off the tee on a par 5. I would rate it a 3.5 if I was able to choose. Played Highlands. Bunkers were not good….. very little to no sand mostly dirt and very thin.
