Clean, welcoming space with a traditional Afghan feel. The food is excellent—Kabuli pulao was awesome, rich, flavorful, and satisfying. Rice was perfectly done, though the goat portion was a bit light compared to the serving size. Overall, a very good experience. If you are missing Afghani cuisine, this is THE place to go.

Went in for a quick lunch takeout. The young man at the counter was very kind and made good suggestions. The goat karahi was just delicious. Even thinking about it now at night. He was kind enough to give complementary pulao which went really well with the karahi. Definitely coming back to eat again

We heard about The Afghan Village from a rerun episode of the podcast The Sporkful and immediately had to try it. I was fascinated by Omer's story and had to try this delicious sounding restaurant.. I was not disappointed! Omer was so kind and provided recommendations. We ended up ordering: bouranee - eggplant with yogurt (Omer provided this special dish) mantoo - ground beef and onion-filled dumpling topped with fresh homemade yogurt meat sauce and dried mint qabuli palau - seasoned tender chunks of lamb under a heaping serving of rice with sweet carrot and raisin combo kabob - with chicken lamb and chapli kabobs naan - of course some sort of piquant, creamy, cilantro-y sauce that was spooned over rice and had all the kabob meats dipped into it because it paired so well with everything The bouranee was a star with savory eggplant cooked with delicious spices swirled with tangy and refreshing yogurt. Dipping the naan wasn't enough. I was using my spoon and eating spoonfulls of this dish and the naan soaked up the remnants the spoon left on the plate. So rich and wonderful! (sorry about the pic of the half eaten plate...we started eating before it occurred we didn't have a pic) The mantoo had a savory beef filling and were moist and delicious with the yogurt sauce and mint. Savory and delicious! (sorry about the pic of the half eaten plate...we started eating before it occurred we didn't have a pic) The quabuli palau came as a heaping plate of rice topped with carrots and raisins. Underneath the giant mound was a large lamb shank where the meat just fell off the bone it was so tender and well cooked. Melt in your mouth tender and so flavorful and paired so well with the sweet carrots and raisins. The combo kabob came with large seasoned chicken pieces, lamb pieces, and a chapli kabob patty. All were so delicious and scrumptiously seasoned with spices in combinations that supplied such rich flavor profiles. With all the dishes there was something familiar in them but yet, flavored in a way that made them novel and had us reaching for more again and again. I can't want to go back and try more items on the menu! Thank you The Afghan Village and thank you Omer!!

We go there for the Afghan cuisine. The food is super tasty and the nan. Read is freshly baked in the restaurant. The atmosphere is very modest but the food makes up for it 😁
