NW Houston needed an affordable Indian sit down restaurant with good ambiance and clientele, where one could dine at on a Saturday, and which also served great tasting authentic Punjabi/ Tandoori food. Raahi meets all the criteria. We have been a few times now and each time the food has been consistently good and the quantity sufficient. Most importantly the food comes piping hot to your table which I feel is important for Indian cuisine. But you have to be patient! The servers are young girls, very sweet and helpful, but obviously untrained. Rahul is probably the manager and deserves a mention. As has been reviewed before, this restaurant has the potential to be a really classy Indian restaurant in Houston if attention is paid to some small details outlined below. 1) trained servers 2) less heavy serve ware which is easier for the servers to carry so that mishaps don’t happen while serving 3) bigger tables for larger groups 4) sofas with firmer cushions (where one doesn’t sink into them) Also the Restroom sign can certainly be less garish and obvious. A couple of things to bear in mind. The gratuity comes added in the check for larger groups. The to go quantity is not the same as the dine in quantity.

We visited Raahi restaurant today and had a good overall experience. The food was flavorful, the ambiance pleasant, and the service friendly. There are just a few small areas that could be improved. We ordered tandoori chaap and vegetable manchurian for appetizers. Both were tasty and well prepared. The mint mojito, however, had a strong aftertaste, possibly from lime, lemon, or mint that was not very fresh, and the drink was not fizzy at all. For the main course, we tried paneer tikka masala and soya chaap masala curry along with garlic naan, tawa roti, and lachha paratha. The breads were soft and fresh. The paneer tikka masala had good flavor, though a few whole cardamom pods affected the taste slightly. The soya chaap curry could have been the best dish of the meal if the salt had been balanced better. Overall, Raahi is a nice place for North Indian food in Houston. With a little more attention to seasoning and freshness in drinks, it could easily become a five-star experience. We would definitely visit again.

What a wonderful first experience we had yesterday afternoon for lunch. We had just missed the lunch special so it was quiet & we had the opportunity to try several of their dishes. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The young lady who served us was so polite & professional. The food came out fast, the presentation was nice & the taste was even better. The restaurants decor is so elegant. It honestly has it all. For everything we purchased 2 appetizer platters, 1 street eats platter, 1 Tandoor se chicken platter, 1 dosa platter, 1 lamb main platter, 1 rice platter & 1 bread basket we paid $136 ($5 was credit card processing fee). We're on our third meal of leftovers today so you definitely get your money worth. Don't pass on this place for your next outing. P.s. dear Raahi restaurant may I have the recipe to the garbanzo beans? They are delicious!!! Lol just kidding (about the recipe) they are seriously delicious 😋

As someone who loves trying new spots, I decided to give this place a go. Here is my detailed take on the experience: 🍽️ The Food Raj Kachori (5/5): 🤤 Absolutely delicious. The outer shell was perfectly thin and crisp, the fillings were well-proportioned, and the chutneys/sauces were spot on. Plus, it looked beautiful on the plate. Paneer Lababdar (5/5): 🤤 Highly recommended by our host, and it did not disappoint! This isn't your average, generic orange restaurant gravy. The curry was incredibly flavorful and unique, and the paneer was melt-in-your-mouth soft. A solid 10/10. Bread Basket (5/5): 🤤 Great variety and value (12 pieces total: 4 tandoori roti, 4 plain naan, and 4 garlic naan). The breads had the perfect thickness, texture, and flavor. Chicken Samosa (0/5): ❌ Unfortunately, this was a miss. I know samosas are deep-fried, but this one was completely drenched in oil to the point where it was literally dripping when picked up. We had to return it and didn't eat it. 🛎️ Service & Hospitality This is the main area where the restaurant has room to grow. There was only one host managing all of the tables. While they were nice, hiring more staff would massively elevate the dining experience and take the pressure off the front of house. ✨ Ambience & Value Value for Money: 8/10. Decent portions and quality for the price. Ambience: The vibe is decent, but the lighting needs adjustment. There is a fine line between "dim, upscale intimacy" and just plain "dull." A bit more focused lighting on the tables would make a huge difference. Summary: The kitchen definitely knows what they are doing with the main courses and chaat (just watch the oil on the fried items!). With a little more staff support and better lighting, this place could easily be a top-tier spot. Will I give them another chance? May be in few months. But if they work on suggestions they they have potential to become Houston’s favorite.

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. Located near the Cypress, Houston area, Raahi is a lovely dining experience overall. We ordered Chicken 65, Chicken Manchurian, chicken noodles, and egg fried rice — every dish was flavourful and comforting, with Indo-Chinese notes that instantly brought back memories of food from back home. The ambiance is really beautiful - comfortable seating, a calm and inviting space and the customer service from Rahul and Ashrita was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. A place that feels both familiar and special. Highly recommend.
