The Indian Deck delivers a solid, no-nonsense dining experience that focuses on bold flavors and a lively atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, the space sets the tone with warm colors and subtle cultural touches that feel inviting without going over the top. The food is the main draw here, and it doesn’t disappoint. Classic dishes like butter chicken, biryani, and various curries are rich, well-seasoned, and clearly made with attention to authenticity. The spice levels are handled thoughtfully, so whether you want something mild or something that actually brings heat, the kitchen can accommodate. The naan is fresh and soft, and the appetizers, especially samosas and pakoras, come out crisp and flavorful. Service is generally efficient and friendly, though it can slow down during peak hours. The staff knows the menu well and can guide you if you’re unfamiliar with Indian cuisine, which makes it a good spot for both newcomers and regulars. Where The Indian Deck stands out is consistency. It may not be trying to reinvent Indian food, but it executes the classics reliably well. If there’s a downside, it’s that the menu doesn’t take many risks, so adventurous diners looking for something unique might find it a bit safe. Overall, The Indian Deck is a dependable choice for satisfying Indian food in a comfortable setting. It’s the kind of place you return to when you want quality, familiarity, and flavors that hit the mark.
Went for lunch today and read some of the reviews before I went. The chilly chicken and Indian deck chicken fry are 5 star appetizers and were the best thing we had. The garlic naan bread is also very good. The chicken vindaloo was tasty, but I found it a bit watery and more sweet and tangy than typically found at Indian restaurants where it is a little thicker and more spicy, but it was still Good. The chicken saag was also tasty, but I prefer that the spinach have some texture to it and not be a soupy purée. The flavor was good, but that is just my personal preference. The service was great, and the manager was very friendly and talked to us at length about the different dishes. We sat in a booth, by choice, but I would sit at a table next time as the booths are not comfortable at all. I would definitely go back to this place and try some of the other offerings.
I’m prettt new to Houston and for my FIRST INDIAN PLACE, The INDIAN DECK DIDNT DISAPPOINT! The atmosphere was beautiful, relaxing, elegant and peaceful. The Service was superb. My server Vino was more than accommodating and friendly. Lastly but most certainly not least.. THAT FOOD WAS INCREDIBLE! From the veggie samosas, to the garlic Naan, The flavors were perfect! The spices of the chicken in the Biryani rice gave everything it needed to give and topping it off with the cooking yogurt sauce?! I kissed my hand in that place just now! I definitely felt like this spot needed a review!! COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF! 🤌🏼
Phenomenal service, food, and ambience. Visited on a Thursday at about 4 PM and was immediately greeted with a smile and delicious smells! I love the style of the restaurant with the gold and black luxurious feeling vibe and very clean tables, modern furnishings and lovely details with decor. It was very great to visit such a casual but well upkept place with OUTSTANDING value for portion ratio. Our party of 2 ordered Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala, as well as a side of Garlic and cheese Naan with Mango Lassi to sip on. There was not a bite had without flavor. The Butter Chicken was exactly the sweetness and spice combination I adore, with the Chicken Tikka Masala being so perfectly balanced and equally as flavorful. The Naan was topped full of deliciousness and couldn't have been seasoned better. The store was fairly barren when we arrived which is incredibly surprising as my partner let me know this was the best Indian Food that they had ever had. DEFINETLY give this place a try, there is only praise to be had!
We had the vindaloo and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan, and everything was delicious! The food was fresh and full of flavor. The restaurant was very clean, and the service was excellent. This place has only been open for a year, and they are doing an amazing job. We will definitely come back again. Highly recommend
