Absolutely delicious! It’s really hard to get a reservation at this spot, and I totally understand why. The food was amazing and so was the service. Came here for Friday dinner with my wife and loved the food and the vibe. First, the location is perfect right in the heart of the Heights. For dinner, we shared the Arrugula salad for appetizer, my wife ordered the Tomato Basil Mozzarella pizza and I had the West Texas Doper Lamb. All dishes were flawless. The salad was very fresh, and the dressing was perfectly vinagry. My lamb dish was very juicy and tender. The mint sauce along with the potatoes and mushrooms complemented it very well. I couldn’t recommend it more! My wife’s pizza was also fantastic. The crust was firm yet soft and not floppy. The cheese and basil were very fresh. And the tomato sauce was perfectly balanced with sweet, savory and acid! Please do yourself a favor and make a reservation for Coltivare, you won’t regret!
My wife and I visited Coltivare in the Heights last night to celebrate a dear friend’s birthday, and it was such a wonderful evening! 🎂 The location is absolutely phenomenal, and while the interior is beautifully decorated and you really feel well taken care of, it can get quite loud inside, making conversation a bit of a challenge. Because of this, I highly recommend opting for a seat outside—it’s the perfect setting to enjoy your company without having to raise your voice, though the noise inside certainly shouldn't deter you from visiting this gem. 🌿 The service was perfect from start to finish. We had a reservation and were seated immediately, which was a huge plus. Every dish and drink we tried was absolutely delicious and expertly crafted. We started off with some fantastic small plates, including fresh, flavorful pasta and savory bites, before moving on to the main courses and rounding out the night with a truly decadent dessert. The cocktails were just as impressive, perfectly mixed and a great accompaniment to our meal. 🍹🍝 Even with the lively atmosphere, we loved every moment of our experience and will definitely be back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cauliflower, mussels, capellini, and swordfish were all outstanding - the swordfish was one of the best dishes I’ve had in Houston. Eggplant dip was only exception to an otherwise amazing range of dishes. Friendly and fast service. Will definitely be returning to try other menu items.
Ive been to this restaurant countless times, always had a great experience, today they let me down big time. I’ve been waiting for them to put back the pappardelle bolognese.. since they’re a seasonal restaurant they change the menu. Finally they have it back and of course i ordered it. To my surprise, there was not meat or sauce to be found in the pasta, it just tasted like cooked pasta with tomato water. I called and talked to the manager asking them to make it right, I was really craving this, even though showed it to him, he just said that it’s portioned that way and if I wanted by money back, I suggested hey if you make it right I can juts be on my way… nope… he didn’t even offer to add a little more sauce ad not cost. He preferred to give me my $27 + tax back. Here’s when you see how a manager can damage the reputation of a place, it could’ve been a simple fix, he decided to make it an unpleasant interaction. I took a video so you judge for yourself. If this was $12 ok … but $30????? For comparison I added 2 other pics from Google Maps of the same pasta here… they can’t say my dish was portioned correctly
Ran in at 10 for a quick bite. Already knew what we wanted based off of others reviews & recommendations. Ordered a red cab, one of the cocktails, olives, focaccia & spaghetti. When ordering the focaccia our server asked if we would like to add the salsa verde or burrata. We denied both as we just wanted to try the bread as is. He then asked if we would like some olive oil & balsamic vinegar on the side. We said sure assuming it was complimentary (our fault for not asking). Everything came out quickly - and service was fine the rest of the evening. Focaccia tasted like pizza crust. Nothing special and would not recommend ever. Spaghetti was delicious. Drinks were great. Not happy about the surprise charge for olive oil & balsamic but oh well…
