My family and friends recently celebrated with us at Grotto after our wedding ceremony. We chose Grotto because it’s where we met up on our first date, so it held a lot of sentimental value for us. The reservation process was wonderful. The gentleman who helped me over the phone was kind, accommodating, and made me feel confident that everything would go smoothly. Unfortunately, our experience once we arrived was disappointing. A few more guests showed up than the 15 we had reserved for, and we completely understood that we would need to move to different tables. That wasn’t the issue. What made the experience disappointing was the way it was handled. The manager (I believe her name ended with “Linda”) came across as cold, unapproachable, and completely indifferent. There was no acknowledgment that this was our wedding lunch or any effort to make us feel welcomed during what was a very special occasion. While I understand that policies have to be followed, kindness and hospitality go a long way, and unfortunately, that was missing. What made it even more disheartening was that the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy aside from our party and a few guests coming in from Dream Con that weekend. On a positive note, the food and drinks were excellent, and our server did a great job. It’s just unfortunate that the overall experience was overshadowed by the lack of warmth and customer service from management on such an important day for us.
I went to The Grotto for a Valentine’s dinner with friends. The place is gorgeous and being downtown makes it feel extra special. Valet out front was easy and only about $12 which was nice. Our server was really friendly at first but kind of disappeared toward the end which was weird. The appetizers were good but definitely not shareable like we expected. Overall the food was really good and we still had a nice time. Beautiful restaurant, just a few service quirks.
I liked this restaurant, its location is very convenient with parking spots available, the food was amazing and the service excellent. I ordered Mushroom risotto with rosemary focaccia, a grapefruit drink with vodka and the tiramisu cake to watch the soccer’s game. Highly recommended to visit if it is your first time in the city
The sauce on the pasta was super sweet but it was amazing! The pizza was good. The appetizers were 🔥🔥🔥 Drinks cold and stuff. Service was a little slow but they were busy and we had a big group so it's fair.
We had such a wonderful night at grotto. We had a large group and had an individual room with the sliding door that closed off. You were able to control the music independently here which was very nice. The food was very amazing and the service was impeccable.
