Some restaurants are good enough to visit once. Il Bracco is good enough to make it a birthday tradition. I came back this year specifically because last year’s meal stuck with me, and it delivered all over again. The pasta is fresh and perfectly done, the bread is the kind you keep reaching for without thinking about it, and the cheesecake is genuinely one of the best I’ve had. Everything tastes like someone actually cares about the food. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, which makes it feel like a real occasion without being stuffy. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and for the quality of what you’re getting, the price feels completely fair. If you’re looking for Italian that goes beyond the basics, this is it. Already looking forward to year three.

Went on a Friday evening and the place was fairly busy, but we didn’t have to wait since we had a reservation. The interior is very nice and was honestly the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, everything else fell short. Between the food, the noise level, and inconsistent service, it was disappointing overall. We started with the Caesar salad, which was just okay nothing special and comparable to something you’d get at Olive Garden. For entrees, we ordered the bolognese, which was average but lacked flavor, and the Ginelli vodka sauce. That dish is supposed to be spicy, but it tasted quite bland. It also doesn’t come with protein, and adding it costs an extra $12 for what tasted like low quality chicken straight out of the freezer. Another issue was the noise level. The restaurant was extremely loud to the point where we couldn’t hear each other because of a nearby table. On top of that, the service was inconsistent, with parts of our order being incorrect and long gaps between check-ins. Overall, we ended up paying for overpriced, underwhelming food in an environment that wasn’t enjoyable. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.

Updated on 09/17/2025 I just got a call from the manager, Jesica, who was really courteous and polite. She gave me an explanation of what could have happened with my drinks and service, but what I truly appreciate is that she took the time to call and leave me with a better impression of her restaurant. That thoughtful gesture not only changed my perception but also reinforced the excellent service they strive to provide. For that reason, I’m changing my four stars to 5 stars, and I will definitely return soon for another date night with my wife. Original posted on 09/15/2025 We had a very good experience here overall. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere makes it a great spot for a date night. I really liked the open kitchen at the entrance and the bar right next to it; it gives the place a modern, lively touch. My only complaint was with the drinks. I ordered a Mojito that tasted like it had no alcohol at all, and they also took quite a while to arrive. For dinner, I had the Chicken Parmesan, which is not listed on the menu but was recommended by our waitress,and it was absolutely delicious. My wife went with a unique version of lasagna, which turned out to be just as tasty. Overall, it was a very good dining experience. I would definitely come back again, though probably not if I’m in the mood for cocktails.

The food was tasty and the menu was interesting and had unique entrees. Their Chicken Piccata was phenomenal and so were the Espresso Martinis. The bartenders get backed up, so order a drink in advance. We waited a very long time for the first drink. Our second one still wasn’t ready by the time dinner was over so we cancelled it.

Aesthetically the restaurant is beautiful. It attracts a business lunch customer as there were plenty of suited men enjoying cocktails and wine. The problem I had with IL Bracco is that neither the food nor service matches up to their pomp. Our waitress Yesenia wasn’t very attentive; we had to ask more than once for an additional menu and dinnerware for our 4th person. She was eager to clear our plates prematurely, asking often before we had finished eating. We couldn’t help feeling rushed. We ordered dessert (at our request- when she finally came by) and truthfully, she had no real recommendations nor offered coffee. Among just a general feeling of neglect, we expected the experience to be better for a nice restaurant. Our selected menu items were just okay. Nothing great for the price. In fact, we were charged dinner prices at the lunch hour. If they are the same, I suggest someone update the information on the Google review website. The chocolate cheesecake was tasteless. We tried to enjoy it, but it was boring. Also, I was disappointed no valet service was available for a restaurant of this caliber in the Post Oak vicinity. It was busy and I had to park in the adjacent lot 8 rows away. Sorry to be so critical, but I have been to many upscale and mid range eateries and I am of opinion that this one missed the mark in a number of ways. There are way too many options in Houston to care to return here.
