Handi has a unique set up allowing each patron to experience sushi at the bar. There are about 30 seats at a time. We ordered the sisho happy cocktail which was unique and very good! Then I had the set of 5 hand rolls! The hand rolls were 3-4 bites, and very good quality. The nori had a nice crunch, the rice was warm, and the sushi was delectable and different as the rolls continued. The fish was bright and fresh. And ingredients were high quality. You could take your time or enjoy quickly before continuing your evening. Thank you handi! I will be back.

Walking in this place felt like a little hole in the wall Japanese sushi bar, very neat and aesthetic, seating at the bar felt traditional, the friendly welcoming staff greeting you and recommending the menu items. I was very pleased and satisfied after my meal I couldn’t even take pictures of all the rolls I ordered because it was so good. This would def be my go to spot from now on.

Fun vibes and casual dining, great for a quick bits whether you’re solo or two people . They move the food very quickly. We did for set of four rolls and then another three set of rolls and also ordered true Crudo‘s. I do wish the portions were a bit larger. Crudos are very tasty and very beautiful presentations, however, very small bites which leave you not completely satisfied. The rolls were pretty good. I would’ve loved to have more rolls. The staff are very attentive, they’re moving quickly. They’re addressing everyone’s needs. Functioning like a well oiled machine. Limited parking especially when it gets busy, there is street parking however area does seem a little bit rough around the edges. May have trouble getting a seat if you come in with a larger group of people but very easy to get a spot if it’s just one or two people, spots move and open up quickly.

The place is a Small sushi bar but quality taste. You do need a reservation and the parking lot is very tiny and limited. The hand rolls were crisp, warm rice, and perfectly made fish. Prices were very reasonable for quality hand rolls and I guess their thing is ducks because they were all over the place. The service was quick too my only thing is that I wished they would explain what each one is and what makes each roll special but maybe this isn’t that type of place but it would definitely elevate the place in terms of service. I got the 4 handroll set, spicy hotate, and kenpachi crudo. I also added the kiui ringo cocktail. In the 4 handroll set included Masu-ocean trout with chili garlic and I really liked the spicy at the end of the aftertaste. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Negitoro-paddlefish ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My favorite was the Spicy Tuna because it had that crunch with it from crispy shallots and normally I don’t like shallots but it really worked with this roll. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Avocado- this was also good it just wasn’t memorable. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The kenpachi crudo was an added on al carte for me and it was interesting in that the sanbaju and chili pepper with amber jack was flavorful doused in some sauce. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The spicy hotate roll had scallops in it and some green onions in it and for some reason they made it so well that it didn’t overpower the roll. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The cocktail kiui ringo was very dangerous it was so tasty and I wanted more. It was sweet with a light apple taste and kiwi together it tasted like a jelly juice type thing and oriental with the flavors.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Handies Douzo is one of those rare spots that reminds you why sushi, when done right, is one of the purest culinary experiences on the planet. This is not a place trying to impress you with size or excess. It wins on precision, restraint, and absolute confidence in its ingredients. The handroll concept is executed flawlessly. Warm, perfectly seasoned rice meets impeccably fresh fish with that ideal contrast of texture and temperature. But what really elevates it is the seaweed. It is crisp, almost delicately toasted right before serving, giving each bite a subtle snap and a warm, aromatic depth that most places completely miss. That texture alone takes the handrolls to another level. Every bite is intentional. The hamachi is clean and buttery, the spicy tuna has real depth instead of just heat, and the negitoro is borderline addictive. Where this place really separates itself is in the crudo. The maguro dish is a masterclass. Delicate bluefin layered with bright acidity, subtle heat, and just enough texture from the cucumber to keep it interesting. It is balanced in a way that feels effortless but clearly is not. The scallop crudo with citrus and chili hits that perfect tension between sweet, briny, and sharp. You can tell immediately this kitchen understands sourcing. The fish quality is elite. Not just fresh, but thoughtfully selected and treated with respect. Nothing is overworked. Nothing is hidden behind heavy sauces. The space itself is understated and intimate. Counter seating, direct line of sight to the chefs, and a vibe that feels both relaxed and dialed in. It is the kind of place where you settle in, slow down, and just keep ordering one more. This is not cheap sushi. It is also not trying to be. It is honest, high-level execution with zero shortcuts. If you know sushi, you will appreciate this place. If you don’t, this is where you learn what it is supposed to taste like. One of the best sushi experiences in Houston right now.
