I tried this restaurant for the first time on Saturday night & I was so impressed by the service and the quality of the food that I came back the next day! I’ve worked in hospitality for 10 years so I really have an eye for detail in this industry & Handies really has it down. They provide locals with a unique & intimate dining experience with the best handrolls you can get in the city. I genuinely appreciated the staff, I can’t speak enough of how great they are about providing their guests with a seamless experience. I wish this team nothing but success and I will definitely be back asap.
Swing by for some late evening drinks and bites, and it was well worth it We were seated immediately. You will sit at a large sushi bar, and you will have the rolls and drinks made right in front of you. The interior felt cozy yet trendy. It’s fairly minimalist with somewhat intimate lighting. I loved the place setting. It was again minimal, but very appetizing and very Japanese. I also loved that we had a dehydrated towel capsule that they poured hot water over to clean your hands. A nice touch! Everyone was super polite and professional. We were honestly well taken care of. Each menu was explained to us with limited specials, suggested ordering amounts, etc. Our food and drinks came out super quickly Both the food and drinks were delicious. The menu has a variety of small plates, but their main bread and butter is handrolls. I am a fan of the Asian flavors and fusion cocktails. I am not as big of a sushi fan as most all of my friends, but I will say this is some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. I also don’t prefer hand rolls, but these were exceptional. We were also given a complimentary tamango dessert bite which was an an incredibly thoughtful and tasty was to end our meal I had always heard of and seen this place, and I always thought it was supposed to be Kanpai Club, but I found out that they’re sister restaurants (share the same kitchen), and it’s just harder to notice the narrow bar/restaurant Kanpai Club from the street All that to say, this places is a vibe, it’s delicious, and it’s affordable. I will definitely be back Some tips: This is a perfect spot for a date night or like we did, a nightcap and bites Certain novelty glassware are paired with certain drinks so if you want a specific one you should ask your server about it I would also consider swinging by Kampai club as they have a different menu, but they will still let you order bites and drinks from the Hando menu There’s a parking lot, but it’s not massive. You should be able to find parking here or street parking nearby, but I always recommend ride-share as the drinks are that good Cheers!!
This is one of my bestie’s fave spots and easy and chill for us to catch up at lunch. Also an easy spot to take my teenager for a little mom/son date. It’s quick, bar seating and chill vibe. We typically go for a later lunch or happy hour and have always found seating. The place is intimate and actually a cool casual first date spot (rec lunch). Their sushi is hand roll style and I can usually eat 3 rolls. They have a nice lunch special with 3 rolls and soup or salad for $21 and a great happy hour menu. The cocktails are a little sweet for me and they serve house wine, so I prefer to ask for a martini or ranch water. Oh or Japanese whiskey. This is one of our last minute meet up go to places for something quick and easy. The staff is always super friendly.
Amazing handrolls, quick service, and unique flavors of miso soup. A wonderful restaurant that lives up to the hype. The ocean trout and steak/mushroom skewers were highlights 🍣
We’ve come here often and love Hando. Their 3 cut roll set is one of our go-tos on the nights we don’t want to cook but tonight they gave us a tuna roll that did not have the right color and had a slight odd taste to it. I think it was bad. I ate one tuna roll and refused to eat the rest. Pretty disappointing.
