I really like the sushi rolls and udon. Raw fish was fresh and not fishy at all. I LOVE their udon. We ordered a half bowl because we want to sample it. The texture of the noodles was very good - chewy and smooth. I don’t think I have had this texture at any other places. Dined here back in March. Food was really good. The two of us were very hungry and I think we overestimated our ability a little bit by ordering so much food. Disclaimer: no food waste! We were stuffed by the end of the meal. We didn’t make a reservation but were lucky to be seated right away. I would recommend making reservation for a big party though. The restaurant was packed when we were there. Parking was somewhat challenging because the lot is shared with other businesses as well. I don’t remember the exact price, but we paid around $10-15 for 2 hours parking.

Very welcoming and friendly staff from the moment we walked in. The restaurant has a genuinely authentic Japanese atmosphere, which adds to the overall experience. We ordered the sushi lunch specials. The rice was clearly high quality, properly seasoned and well-prepared and the sushi itself was fresh and well-balanced. Their specialty rolls also looked very interesting, and I would definitely like to come back to try some of those next time. A solid lunch spot that delivers both on quality and ambiance.

The food here is bomb. They do get very busy and the one time I came here during a busy night we were definitely neglected service wise but this was a one time thing and the food offset this for me! I also love that they do half portions for some of the dishes so you can try more.

Visited Izakaya Wa – River Oaks while in Houston for a family dinner. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with that authentic izakaya feel that works well for both groups and casual nights out. The service was friendly and efficient, and everything moved smoothly despite a full room. We tried a variety of dishes across the table — well-prepared, flavorful, and meant to be shared, which made the experience even better. The beers were nice and cold, exactly what you want alongside this style of food. Overall, a solid spot with good energy, quality food, and definitely worth a return visit. Saluti
