After a long day, I found myself asking where I wanted to have dinner. I was celebrating my 38th birthday alone while on a business trip, and I wanted to bring it in intentionally by treating myself to one of the things I love most—an unforgettable meal. I’m so grateful I stumbled upon Uchiko. Guillermo made what was already going to be a special evening into one I’ll remember for the rest of my life. His attentiveness, awareness of my palate, and effortless timing were remarkable. He was always there to clear the table or check in, yet never interrupted the flow of the experience. Every recommendation felt intentional, and every course of the somakase arrived at exactly the right moment. The somakase was, without question, the best meal I’ve ever had. Every bite reflected the level of care and craftsmanship that has earned Uchiko its reputation. Guillermo, thank you for making my birthday feel genuinely special. Your hospitality was every bit as memorable as the food. Uchiko’s reputation is well deserved, and after this experience, I can say with confidence that I’ll be back.
This was one of the best desserts I ever had. No exaggeration. The food was good - nothing mind blowing. gyutoro and brussel sprouts possible the highlight. unagi nigiri was too sweet. Would give it 8/10 but the dessert was an absolute home run 11/10. Texture and sweetness couldn’t be more perfect. Will come back just for the dessert
This place has an awesome lunch menu/happy hour. The service was pretty good and you get complimentary valet and you can make reservations. However, if you make reservations everyone has to be present before you are allowed to be seated. You can wait at the bar until your guests arrive. I liked that they had multiple types of seating and even patio seating. There’s bar seating and a sushi bar seating, boothe seating and table seating. My favorite drink was the lychee martini. It has a yuzu flavor so it’s a hint of lychee and kinda like a slush of a drink. I enjoyed it. The espresso martini was ok it wasn’t the best I don’t think they use fresh espresso for their drink. I tried the waygo sando although it was good I feel like it was overpowered by the Beni shoga. I also tried the 3 different fats of the tuna nigiri and my favorite one was the medium fatty (chutoro). It’s the only one I felt melted in my Mouth.. the hamachi chili was okay It was more of a citrusy flavor and the mandarin is ok in the sauce but not eaten together with the fish.
Cant believe haven't tried this place living in Houston these many years. Food is excellent every single dish is amazing. Cocktails are too good! Our waitress was super attentive and sweet, we went with our daughter to celebrate her graduation and she was very happy with the overall experience. This definitely is going to become our go to sushi place!!
Absolutely incredible experience at Uchiko. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, modern, and inviting, setting the tone for the entire evening. The service was outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly timed without ever feeling rushed. Every dish we tried was exceptional. The quality of the fish was top-tier, and the flavors were creative, balanced, and beautifully presented. Uchiko delivers on every level—food, service, and ambiance. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had, and I can’t wait to come back.
