I was so excited when this place opened. I love Korean food. When it first opened, the food was pretty good! Not the greatest, but not bad or lacking by any means. However, as time has gone on I've felt the quality slide. I really think highly of the owner - she is friendly, sweet, kind, energetic - all great qualities! However, the food quality seems to have fallen. Lately, over the past few months, the beef has gotten more and more gristly, but that's not the part that concerns me. The part that concerns me is the lack of Korean flavors, lately. It used to have that punch that is needed in a rice bowl - savory, flavor packed meat that is offset by the rice, so you get pockets of flavor bursts throughout as you're eating it. One thing that drives me nuts, and I understand why it happens because it's one person running things, is that the meat is prepared in rather large quantities. This causes it to steam more than anything else, which leaves you with gray beef or pork without much flavor. I think that re-approaching the quantity that is prepared at a time would help immensely. High heat, char, caramelization - this is what this needs and I feel like it had that at the beginning. I'm writing this reluctantly, as I like the owner, but the last time I came it was just bad. It wasn't ok, it wasn't "could be better," it was bad. I didn't want to finish it, but had paid $15 and was already back at my office, so I ate it... It tasted like boiled beef and beef fat with rice. I tasted no Korean flavors, no salt, no spice, nothing. It was really, really disappointing. So I'm writing this and will happily take it down after trying it again when the quality improves, but if it remains the way it is currently, it's not sustainable.

I was craving for Korean food and was happy to see a new Korean spot at the Allen Center. Gotta be honest though, unless you work here, you prob wouldnt know there is a food tunnel downstairs. Once you come downstairs, the BopZip is on the other side between leaf and grain and chick fil a. Menu is pretty limited, only to choose from a couple but they are everyone's favorite and it's perfect healthy and delicious lunch. Despite what other had mentioned on the reviews, I thought the price was reasonable and the portions were good. Water $1 and Soda $2? That's average. I got the bibimbap and it was so yummy! Wish they gave you more spicy sauce but I still enjoyed it a lot! Will be back! Friendly customer service.

During my recent business trip to downtown Houston, I had lunch at this place several days in a row. The Korean owner and staff were very welcoming, which I found heartwarming. Despite the low prices, I was impressed by the taste, quality, and portion size of the food. Although they didn't include a tip on the receipt, I happily left one in the tip jar as a token of appreciation for their excellent service. Four friends I brought along the next day were also satisfied with both the taste and affordability of the food! Strongly Recommend!

Have been going to BobZip for a while now and have been meaning to write a review. I have always been very satisfied with the portion sizes and the food. At this point I have pretty much had at least all of the permanent menu items and tried the daily specials at least once, all of which were really good! The staff is always friendly and going to get my food from them is typically a highlight of any workday. This is a gem of the Allen Center food court.
