We had a great experience at Hongdae 33 Korean BBQ. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The Black Angus beef was especially amazing—tender, juicy, and cooked perfectly. Every dish we tried was excellent, and the quality of the meat really stood out. The service was friendly, attentive, and fast, making us feel very welcome. The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and we would definitely come back

We visited this Korean BBQ restaurant while celebrating my daughter’s awards ceremony. Our original plan was to go to Jin Korean BBQ, which is one of our family’s favorite places, but unfortunately the power went out there. After waiting about 30 minutes with no updates, we decided to try Hongdae 33 Korean BBQ instead. We chose the $36 per person menu for our group of four adults, a 7-year-old child, and a 1-year-old baby. From the beginning, the experience was disappointing. We arrived only about 20 minutes after opening, yet the rice served to us seemed like it had been cooked the day before and simply reheated. It definitely did not taste fresh. At that point, we already felt like leaving, but since we were there, we decided to stay. I repeatedly asked for potato salad, and after several requests, our server finally brought some but told us they were out. The portion was literally just two small pieces of potato. I honestly didn’t know whether to laugh or be upset. What bothered me most was the service. Every time I requested a side dish or anything else, the server would stand at our table and look toward the kitchen saying she wasn’t sure if they had it. The kitchen wasn’t even visible from where we were sitting. As someone who has worked as a server since 2018, I understand how demanding restaurant work can be, but I would never serve food that looked unappetizing or make guests feel like they were inconveniencing me. The grill was never changed or even offered to be changed until we specifically asked. We ordered multiple side dishes that either never arrived or required repeated requests. I kept asking for items and was repeatedly told, “I’m not sure if we have that,” followed by another glance toward the kitchen. Eventually I just gave up and told her I didn’t want anything else. Toward the end of the meal, my husband asked for more spicy cucumber, and she brought an extremely large portion all at once. It honestly felt like a message of, “Here, take this so you won’t ask for anything else.” For an all-you-can-eat restaurant, it felt surprisingly difficult to get sides or refills. Either the items never arrived, or something seemed off with the service process. The food itself was okay, but the service was very poor. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and unfortunately, we will not be returning.

I came and had been to this bbq places many times it was the best back then but lately most recent time I went I can confirm that it no longer good the sauces they offer are only three options salt with pepper , chili sauce, and the nasty pineapple soy sauce by far disgusting it was bad besides the limited sauces they offer are service was weak we had no grill change the whole time felt like our food was burnt but our server never changed it. Besides the lack of responsibility the wait time to get a seat is just beyond to long one hour 30 minutes just ridiculous wait wasnt worth it. Biggest issue I had was the ramen I order it tasted like water with noodles no flavor but while I was eating I had plastic that came in my noodles lucky I spit it out or I be eating more plastic with my noodles overall I was extremely disappointed in how far it has fallen I definitely won’t return ever again just takes one time to kill the overall experience

Came here on a Thursday night, there was no line so we were seated quickly. Service was really good! All the servers were attentive and they would bring out our orders pretty quickly. The meat selection is quite nice, I would say it’s the main reason for their price. We mainly ordered galbi. I did order the NY ribeye steak but it was too tough/chewy so we sticked to the galbi only. I’m not fond of their sides/banchan though, I’ve had better at other places. Main reason why I enjoy kbbq is to pair with sides so it was a bit disappointing for me as I couldn’t experience that as much. The default banchan they serve is ok. I ordered ramyeon, kimchi soup, and lettuce. Can’t go wrong with ramyeon and lettuce but the kimchi soup wasn’t really much. Overall, it’s a nice kbbq while you’re in the plaza. I wouldn’t say it’s my go-to.

I had an amazing experience at Hongdae BBQ, and a huge part of that was thanks to Johnny Dang! Johnny provided some of the best customer service I've had in a long time. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offered great recommendations, and always checked in at the right time without being intrusive. The food was fresh, delicious, and came out quickly, but Johnny's hospitality truly made the experience stand out. He created a welcoming atmosphere that made our group feel like valued guests from the moment we walked in. If you're visiting Hongdae BBQ, I highly recommend asking for Johnny. His professionalism, positive attitude, and outstanding service turned a great meal into an exceptional dining experience. We'll definitely be back!
