Great Seminar at Midtown MMA Houston with the legend "XANDE" Alexandre Ribeiro, commonly known as “Xande” Ribeiro is a legendary jiu-jitsu competitor and one of the founding members of the Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Association. Under the tutelage of some of the world’s top coaches, including Royler Gracie, Vini Aieta and Xande’s own brother Saulo Ribeiro, Alexandre earned numerous grappling titles, including IBJJF and ADCC World Champion, while earning also the #1 rank in BJJ Heroes’ Top BJJ Competitors of All Time list, up until 2020. I dropped in for a class and had a good time. The instruction of technique was detailed and methodical. We actually covered some judo throws during my visit. When it came time to roll, I matched up with some upper belts and had a blast. Good attitudes, Fun gym.
I have been training here for about two years. Professor Martinez and Professor Farias are both excellent instructors, and the team is filled with a great group of guys and girls at every experience level. The gym regularly competes and is successful in local tournaments and offers day and night classes that should fit in for anyone's schedule. Highly recommend!
World Class Jiu Jitsu found right here. I travel throughout the states and even internationally frequently and always find a place to train while away from home. This place holds the bar and can be held up against any jiu jitsu school in the world. Instructors Chris & Chris, (yes two different people haha) provide clear, concise instruction on both fundamentals and or complex techniques. Mats are clean and the A/C is on (you'd be surprised how many places don't have these criteria). Great mixture of both competitors and casual jiu jitsu practitioners. All in all, just an amazing gym!
