His knowledge of the sport is deep, but what truly distinguishes him is his ability to understand each student as an individual. He has a remarkable eye for detail and knows how to make small, precise adjustments that can completely transform someone’s technique. As someone training over the age of 50 while balancing a demanding career, I especially appreciate Justin’s thoughtful approach. He pushes me to improve while remaining attentive to injury prevention, recovery, and long-term development. His coaching is challenging without being reckless, technical without being overwhelming, and always encouraging. Justin creates an environment where beginners feel welcome and experienced practitioners continue to grow. He teaches with patience, humility, discipline, and genuine enthusiasm for his students’ success. His new gym is not simply a place to learn jiu-jitsu—it is a place to build confidence, resilience, composure, and community. I cannot recommend Coach Justin highly enough. My son and I trained under coach Justin for around 3 years and I can’t speak highly enough about our experience. Justin is talented not only as a martial artist but as a teacher. His passion for explaining technique and problem-solving approaches is inspiring and is one of the main reasons I committed seriously to training. I have had the pleasure of knowing Justin for almost 20 years. I have seen him grow from a hungry young fighter, to a mature husband and father. As a matchmaker and announcer, I had the opportunity to watch his fights from the best seat in the house and I was always a fan of his warrior spirit. Justin is a true martial artist.
