This place is run by the nicest people. Don't ask me how I know, but if you dump an entire pot of turkish coffee, they might clean it up for you and give you another one. The also have very good shaksuka scramble and macaroons. This is the same restaurant that used to be off of Hillcroft where Sammy's is now.

Stopped in for Dinner after Visiting Sawyer Yards and we were not disappointed. Parking is ample wich is a plus. It's counter style and they bring you food out to your table we beat the dinner crowd in and managed to find seating. During peak hours maybe to-go is the best option. Let's get the the food we tried the Shawarma Beef & Shawarma Chicken (to-go) with a side of Muhammara and baba ghanouj. In the to-go order we got the same thing except with fried cauliflower. everything was delicious our favorite was the Muhammara. The staff was very attentive asking if we needed anything else and overall we really enjoyed our dinner. Highly recommend this place!

I really wanted to like this place. I remember going to the original location near Hillcroft growing up and always thinking the food was so good, so I was excited to see a location in the Heights off I-10. Unfortunately, my experience this time was really disappointing. From the start, the service felt off. The person working the register seemed very low energy, uninterested, and not particularly helpful. It didn’t feel welcoming at all. At one point, another guest was trying to place a specialty order, and she just disappeared to find the owner without saying much, leaving me and a few other guests standing there confused, wondering what was happening. When I ordered, I was told they were out of chicken shawarma, so my only option was beef shawarma, which came with an upcharge on the combo plate that I didn’t realize at the time. It is clearly market in the menu when you feel the pressure to order quickly because everyone was waiting it’s a bit akward.That part may be on me, but it still added to the frustration. I also ordered a spinach pie, and when it came out, it was cold, soggy, and honestly surprising for something that should feel fresh from a bakery. When I asked if they had one that wasn’t cold or soggy, it seemed like they just threw it in the panini press for a second, which didn’t really fix it. The wait for food was also much longer than expected, around 25+ minutes, and I actually had to check in myself to see where my order was. When the food finally came out, the beef shawarma was disappointing. The cuts were thick, fatty, and lacked the char and flavor I remembered from past experiences. The chicken kabob was actually very good, and the lentils were solid, but the cauliflower was overly fried and lacked salt, lemon, or really any flavor beyond oil. While I appreciate that the oil tasted clean, I don’t want oil to be the main flavor of the dish. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and I did notice the owner or manager on site, but he seemed focused on entertaining guests rather than checking in on tables. It would have made a big difference if someone had walked around to ask how things were going, because I definitely wasn’t the only person who seemed disappointed. I went in on a Sunday during an off time, and honestly, I was having a really bad day and just wanted something comforting and reliable. That made this experience feel even more disappointing. I almost questioned whether it was fair to leave this review because of timing, but at the end of the day, the service and food just didn’t match the expectations I had based on how much I enjoyed the original location. I ended up taking most of the food to go because I couldn’t justify wasting that much money, but I also didn’t feel good staying and finishing it there. Overall, it just felt awkward, underwhelming, and not at all what I expected. I may give it another shot because I know this group is capable of much better, but based on this visit, the service and food execution were just not where they should be.

Excellent experience at Abdullah’s Café! Fresh, authentic Lebanese cuisine, beautiful atmosphere, and outstanding service. The café is spotless, welcoming, and very well maintained. Farris, the owner, is known for his excellent reputation and hospitality. One of the cleanest and most enjoyable cafés I’ve visited in Houston. Highly recommended!

Every time I come I have such a great experience here! The food is always soooo good, everything was fresh, and flavorful. You can really tell they put thought into every dish. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. Definitely one of those spots you leave already thinking about coming back. I’d 100% recommend it!!!
