We visited for the first time on a Friday night to celebrate my daughter's 27th birthday. Despite having an 8:00 PM reservation, we waited longer than the walk-ins, though this may be why we were eventually seated upstairs. Unfortunately, our first impression was poor. The ground-floor hostesses were completely unengaging and unwelcoming. When our table was ready, we were simply told to walk upstairs to the second hostess station without being escorted, which felt odd. The second-floor hostess was equally lifeless and sat us at a four-top right next to an incredibly loud, large party. The deafening noise made it impossible to hear each other.The saving grace of our night was our server, Natalie. She was sweet, genuinely engaging, and provided fantastic service and excellent food and cocktail recommendations. The food itself was outstanding. The Angus Ribeye Fajitas and Adobo Grilled Carne Asada Fajitas (both ordered rare) had amazing flavor. The sweet potato side was great, though the rice was far too lime-heavy to eat. The cocktails were good, and the Carajillo-style Espresso Martini was exceptional. Overall, while the food and service from Natalie were great, the unwelcoming atmosphere and overwhelming noise mean we won't be returning.

Beautiful, colorful, and well-designed restaurant near downtown. Food was good and fresh and well-priced. I would’ve liked more beets in the “Beets and Goat Cheese” salad. Service could have been better. Waitress seemed “meh” about various items I mentioned on the menu. Hostesses seated someone who was waiting for 2 other people before us when I was already there with my husband and we had to wait a lot longer. Pretty strange. I would return if I’m in the area with the kids. Good outdoor space if the weather is nice!

Natalie was absolutely amazing! She was so sweet, cheerful, attentive, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. She made our experience at Mexican Sugar truly unforgettable! She gave us great recommendations and was incredibly transparent and accommodating, especially with allergies within our party. She went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable, informed, and well taken care of. And the food was fantastic! Everything was so tasty and delicious. The asada tacos were absolutely top notch — definitely a must-try! And the hibiscus margarita was absolutely divine! Natalie’s wonderful personality and exceptional service, combined with the amazing food and drinks, made for such a memorable experience. She is truly a gem, and we highly recommend asking for her when you visit Mexican Sugar!

The food and atmosphere are always great, but the service is what really made the experience stand out this time. A huge shoutout to the bartenders—**Brook, Amya, and Nema**. They were absolutely wonderful! They were attentive, friendly, and provided top-tier service all afternoon. It’s rare to find a team that works so well together to make sure guests are taken care of. If you're stopping by, definitely pull up a seat at the bar. I’ll definitely be back soon! Really soin lol

Alberto, the bartender, absolutely nailed it—our drinks were spot on and crafted to perfection. You can tell he really knows his stuff! Francisco, the manager, was just as impressive. He checked in on us and made sure everything was running smoothly, which really elevated the whole experience. The food did not disappoint either—everything was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. From start to finish, the service, drinks, and atmosphere were all top tier. 10/10 would definitely recommend! We’ll definitely be back!
