I’m genuinely disappointed that Picos will be closing soon. This has been one of my favorite restaurants in Houston for years, and I’ve eaten here regularly, especially for their brunch buffet which I’ve always enjoyed. On my most recent visit, though, I definitely noticed a decline in quality. I’m not sure if it was because I dined closer to closing time, but the experience just didn’t feel the same as I remembered. The horchata wasn’t nearly as sweet or flavorful as it used to be, and the seasonal soft shell crabs, which were always one of my favorite dishes here, tasted a bit reheated and not as fresh as past visits. They were still decent, just not up to the standard I had come to expect from Picos. I was also very disappointed after making a reservation for their Mother’s Day brunch, only to later be told that my reservation was no longer in the system because it had apparently been canceled. That was honestly frustrating and a huge letdown. Even with the disappointing recent experience, I still have a lot of great memories here, especially enjoying their banana leaf tamales and mole. Because of all the amazing meals and experiences I’ve had over the years, I’ll still give them 3 stars.

Thought this place was just ok. The food wasn’t as good as we hoped but the service was great. The chips and salsa were fine as was the chile con queso. The fajitas were fine but nothing special. We felt the food was lacking a flavor punch that places like el Tiempo, candente, Mexican sugar, and Los Tios have

Hello! I came to work a job across the street. The job got pushed back in start time so I had some extra time. I walked in unsure if picos was open and they were (840am). I ordered the Machacado Con Huevo a la Mexicana: Eggs scrambled with mexican style shredded dried beef, onions, tomatoes and serrano peppers served with house made tortillas, salsa ranchera and your choice of roasted potatoes or refried beans. It was excellent. I recommend making sure you get some of the ranchero sauce!!

I had only been to this restaurant once before, and I had a nice time, but this second visit was a lively experience. Looking at all the Tex-Mex choices in Houston, I feel like this is one of the best in terms of flavor, ambiance, and service The exterior is inviting, and interior is well-decorated. It isn’t flashy or cluttered, it’s actually more elegant wish a few dashes of Latin American flair The menu offers a variety of Tex-Mex staples as well as some signature dishes. There’s an extensive margarita list. Fun fact, Pico’s boasts “the birthplace of the shaker margarita.” The food was delicious, the drinks hit the spot, the ambiance was lovely, and the service was impeccable Some tips: You can order online and can even order margarita mix from their online store They will bring you complimentary chips and salsa. The red salsa is an almost marinara flavor which I actually really enjoy, and the green sauce is delicious. If you want more chips or sauces you can just ask (free of charge) If you’re a margarita fan I would definitely try one of their signature margarita drinks Cheers!!

Picos was SO good. We went last night and everything was incredible. The food was amazing, the drinks were great, and the whole atmosphere was just so fun. What truly made the night special, though, was our waitress, Yesmin. She was so kind, attentive, and had the brightest, most positive attitude. She made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we sat down and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. It's rare to come across service that leaves such an impression, and she definitely did. Good service can completely change a dining experience, and Yesmin definitely did that for us. We'll 100% be back, and hopefully we'll get her again!
