I wanted to also include a picture of the tacos I got, but they were so delicious that I ate them before I could take one. The carnitas, beef fajita, and al pastor were excellent in both flour and corn tortillas. The salsa was very flavorful and not diluted at all (I would recommend using a small amount if your heat tolerance is low). I’ll need to come back to try the other meats, tortas, and more. Grab tacos and head across the street for a Modelo Negro - very good pairing.
Coming from LA, we’re pretty picky when it comes to tacos. We’ve tried several taco spots in Houston, and while some were decent, none of them made us want to come back—until we found this place. Honestly, this is probably the closest we’ve found to authentic LA-style tacos. My only complaint is that they’re a little on the salty side, so be prepared to drink a gallon of water afterward! 😂 Other than that, everything was really good. The sauces have a nice kick, which we love, and I appreciate that they give you individual lime wedges for each taco. The tacos are generously packed with meat, and they serve them the way I like—with fresh raw onions and cilantro. A lot of other places we’ve tried crisp up the tortillas or use grilled onions and cooked cilantro, which just isn’t my preference. This spot keeps it simple and lets the ingredients shine. So far, this has become our go-to taco spot in Houston. We’ll definitely be back.
Love this literal Mom and Pop taco truck serving delicious tacos either flour or corn with options like pollo(chicken) fajitas, Barbacoa or 3 kinds of pork. The fajitas and barbacoa are my go to every visit since we stumbled on this little gem on our way to the Menil Collection with my daughter from NYC.
If you’re looking for some of the best bang-for-your-buck tacos in town, Tacos Tierra Caliente is the spot. This unassuming food truck delivers big flavor at a tiny price. The barbacoa tacos were juicy, tender, and packed with rich flavor. The pastor was also fantastic, with just the right balance of sweetness and spice. The fajita taco was decent, though not as memorable as the others. The service was friendly and fast. Just be warned: parking is pretty limited, so it’s best to grab your tacos to-go if it’s crowded. Overall, if you’re craving legit street tacos without breaking the bank, this place is a must-try.
Best food truck around! The burritos and tacos are absolutely delicious, and the prices are unbeatable. The service is always fast, friendly, and efficient. If you're looking for great food at a great value, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommended!
