I recently had cataract surgery with Dr. Caplan at Berkeley Eye Center (Weslayan location) and am extremely pleased with both the process and the results. Dr. Caplan has a very calm and reassuring manner. He explained things fully and answered questions patiently. All of the team members that I interacted with at both the office and the surgery center were very courteous, helpful, and professional. The results I got were amazing. I’d been wearing glasses for over 60 years, ever since I was 18 months old. After cataract surgery I no longer need glasses for distance vision and I need only readers for up-close vision. I’d been told by friends that had cataract surgery that it was life-changing and indeed it is. I would highly recommend Dr. Caplan and Berkeley Eye Center for anyone needing cataract surgery.

I had a great experience with Olga as my surgical counselor for my upcoming LASIK procedure. She was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and helpful throughout the entire process. Olga took the time to answer all of my questions, explain every step clearly, and make sure I felt comfortable and informed about the procedure. Her patience, expertise, and friendly demeanor helped put me at ease and gave me confidence in moving forward with LASIK. I truly appreciate her excellent customer service and support. Highly recommended!

l've been going to this eye clinic for about five years, but after my most recent visit, I'm honestly not sure I'll be going back. Making the appointment was easy, and the front desk staff were nice when I checked in and checked out. The staff who helped with my prescription were polite too. But the rest of the visit was really frustrating. I waited almost 45 minutes in the exam room before the doctor came in, and then the appointment with the doctor felt very rushed. On top of that, I was charged $55 for a new glasses prescription, which didn't sit right with me after already waiting that long. I also found out they charge an extra 3% if you pay with a credit card, and it wasn't clearly explained whether paying another way would avoid that fee. When I asked for my pupillary distance measurement, I was sent somewhere else and ended up with information I couldn't even use, so I had to pay another optometrist to get it done correctly. After being a long-time patient, this visit made me feel more like I was being charged for every little thing than actually taken care of. The staff were nice, but overall this experience left a bad impression, and I probably won't return.

Absolutely AMAZING experience and results. From the consultation to the day of procedure and post-op appointment, their professionalism is unmatched. Ashley was our main point of contact and she was absolutely fantastic! Incredibly patient-centered, friendly, punctual, flexible, communicative, and supportive. Truly wonderful staff. We recommend this place to everyone we know who wants LASIK and are so pleased with the quality of the entire process!

Dr.Garza is Amazing as well as Jordan, but the rest of the staff especially Ana. She was very rude. I called an entire day and could not get anyone to verify my insurance coverage. I kept getting the run around and very rude talking over me. Then Ana called and stated my appointment was cancelled which was only a consultation and I advised her I would have a referral from my PCP. She rudely stated no you are in your feelings and cancelled my appointment. The staff other than Jordan and Vanessa need a lot more customer service training.
