Dined at Pacha Nikkei for almost 2 years and still love this place. Excellent service. Recently discovered Sunday brunch has great deals: - $2 mimosas - $2 east coast oyster Faves: - asado de tira skewers (super tender) - hotate tiradito (ordered 2x, scallops taste great w/ the sauce) - ceviche chalaco - lomo saltado - salmon tiradito was ok - dessert: croissant bread pudding was alright Hope this restaurant stays open for a long time!
Shout-out to one of our favorite places to dine: Pacha Nikkei in the Westchase District. This Peruvian-Japanese fusion spot never misses. We ordered the tasting menu, and every bite was excellent. Our favorite dish, the Elixir de Tigre ceviche, was not on the tasting menu, but we had been craving it for weeks, so we added it. Worth it. My husband ordered the Wagyu Old Fashioned, which was well balanced and not overpowering. I always order the Chilcano. It is light, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. The staff is consistently kind and attentive. We have had the same bartender twice, once during restaurant week and again last night, and he was outstanding. He walked us through each course and advised us on when to enjoy the extra ceviche for the best experience. He was right. I do not write many restaurant reviews, but this place deserves the love. A true gem in Westchase.
My husband and I went to Pacha Nikkei because we were craving sushi, and the Peruvian-Japanese fusion sounded amazing. It did not disappoint. The Tako Olive was my favorite roll, and we also had the Pacifico and Andino, which were both fantastic. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. I did find the menu a bit dense. It would be even better if they had pictures for people who aren’t familiar with the dishes. The ambiance was a little meh at the time because it wasn’t very busy, but one of the staff told us they’re starting salsa night this coming Friday, so that should help. There’s plenty of seating, a huge bar, and the decor is modern and pretty. Overall, we had a great experience. The drinks could have been a bit more flavorful, but the food was fantastic. I would definitely come back for more sushi and tiraditos.
We went there for the tasting menu, which was promoted online, only when we got there, they said it was not possible today with no explanation. A lot of staff working and honestly, there was 1 girl and 1 guy who actually serviced us well, the rest seemed very uninterested. The food is really good, we just took everything that was also on the tasting menu and it’s really really tasty and good quality food. So overall, if you’re a foodie and want to go for the amazing tastes, go there, but do not expect an amazing vibe or atmosphere.
The food is absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. It’s an exquisite fusion of Peruvian and Japanese cuisine. My Brazilian husband loved the maki rolls, as Japanese culture has a strong influence in Brazil, and he also really enjoyed the algarrobina cocktail. Everything was outstanding. Highly recommended!
