This is a fantastic place to get everything you love about Pilates, but in a supportive and unintimidating way. The instructors are kind and give clear instructions so anyone can come to a class and easily participate. The reformers are unique at Citizen- this Balanced Body machine has more options for working out versus a traditional reformer. This is the only place in Houston who features these machines.

I love my classes at Citizen Pilates. I’m 100+ classes in and have seen significant improvement in my strength and balance. The classes are easy to schedule and each instructor has their own style. I seek out classes taught by Laura and Jay-Z and leave their classes knowing I’ve had a great and challenging workout. I had never had a Pilates class and at 67 was quite intimidated. After the first class I was hooked. Citizen is welcoming for all ages and levels of fitness. I only wish I had discovered them years ago!

Can’t stress the welcoming experience here enough! Megan was my first instructor and she has been very helpful and accommodating. She explains in detail and never makes anyone feel like an outcast. Her ability to help others while instructing the class is awesome and the perfect skill to have as an instructor. I am 5 classes in and I’m hooked! While the classes are challenging, it only gets better and more fun as you feel your body getting stronger. Don’t feel intimidated as we all started at square one. The reformers are in perfectly new shape and are so great to work on.

This is my favorite Citizen Pilates location. I usually go to the Spring Branch location for reformer fitness because it’s closer. However, that location doesn’t offer jumpboard cardio classes- so I go out of my way to do jumpboard here because they’re so much fun! CP in general is just a great studio, no matter which location. The instructors are so thoughtful and they always remember your name/call you by your name during class. They even email you after you’ve taken an instructors class for the first time! I have not been to a studio with that much attention to detail (especially at the level they’re at). It’s definitely much appreciated. They got me into reformer Pilates because of their inclusive approach to it and they make it so accessible!

My first time at Citizen was great. I had my hesitations but Joey made me at ease. It was fun and he makes sure your form is good. I have no clue what I’m doing as a beginner, so his corrections were really appreciated by me. The music is upbeat and great touch to get you through the class.
