Mamma Tomato Pizza ended up being the best part of our New Year’s Eve, hands down. We stopped in while waiting for the countdown, and the pizza was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can taste that the dough is freshly tossed and the pizza is handmade, not rushed or mass-produced. The service was about as fast as you can reasonably expect for fresh pizza, and it moved smoothly even with the NYE crowd. I also loved that you can watch them make the pizza right in front of you—there’s something about seeing your food come together that just hits different. The vibe fit the moment perfectly. Busy, energetic, but not stressful, and the open kitchen and pizza oven added to the experience. If you’re at POST Houston and need a solid food win, Mamma Tomato is it. I’d happily run this back on a regular day—not just for a holiday countdown.
Mamma Tomato is located near the back of Post Market, so it may be a little difficult to find. That said, it is definitely worth looking for. I ordered the 12" meat lovers and was very pleased with my pie. The crust is thinner than a pan style yet slightly thicker than the average thin crust. My pizza was hot, fresh and very flavorful. The service was excellent and I definitely recommend if you are in the area.
Food was ok but the Service it’s the horrible. The girl at the register since we walked in had an attitude I can hardly hear what she was saying and it felt like she didn’t wanna take my order. I got a pizza combo with a natural drink (strawberry lemonade) and it was bad! When I went to change it I asked the girl at the register to do so cuz it tasted bad and she literally rolled her eyes at me (extremely rude) I asked her why she did that and her response was - did I did that? She said she was sorry but only cuz she had to. I’m any case. First and last time I come to this place.
Terrible. I ordered the veggie pizza with Italian sausage. The sausage tastes off. The pizza itself is soggy. The veggies are fresh. The pizza tastes undercooked. The only thing "New York" about this pizza is that it's foldable. The BOGO offer for it on Doordash doesn't make up for it being a waste of cash and calories.
Love this place! I'm a big pizza fan n this place is my go to at the post market before work. Big slices, great flavor, great crust! Can't miss! Grab a slice or 2 n thank me later!
