It had been well over a decade since I had stopped by this Houston institution. A buddy wanted some Chicago-style pizza, and Star is one of the few pizzerias in the area that offer it Tucked away just north of hwy 69, you could easily miss it in the Sheppard and Richmond area, but this two-story home-converted-pizzeria is a vibe. Everything feels a little artsy and a little nostalgic. There’s seating on the covered patio, on the first floor, and upstairs The menu offers many starters, salads, pastas, and other Italian delicacies, but their bread and butter is pizza. They have many styles from hand tossed to Chicago style, to thin and crispy. There are signature pies, but you can also BYO. You can also order desserts, beer, wine, soft drinks, etc. if you’re vegan or have a gluten intolerance they have dough/pizzas for you The staff are friendly, attentive, and professional. Everything came out in a timely manner, and we were well taken care of I was skeptical of ordering a Chicago style pizza in Houston, but I will tell you it was actually really good. It looked incredibly appetizing, and it tasted just as good. The salads are also hearty and fresh. If you’re a ranch fan, they have a homemade ranch that is delicious Some tips: Based on their websites it looks like there’s a few locations. I always assumed there was only this one, but it looks like there’s off 77 Harvard and one in the Cinco Ranch area Their website does a great job of providing images for each dish so you get a better idea of what you’re ordering Every Tuesday and Friday from 11am-2pm they offer an AYCE pizza buffet They now have an app. So, you can order ahead AND start earning points/rewards for your next order Cheers!

Michael was of server and he was excellent knowledgeable and very attentive. Thank you sir. My newphew and I first timers and this was a great experience 100%. Food fresh check. Customer great check. Pricing reasonable check. Taste of fresh hott pizza two checks. Check out my photos n videoo . We will be back soon.

🍕🤤 I’ve been coming to Stars Pizza since 2017, and they’ve never disappointed me when it comes to the food. Their New York-style and Chicago-style pizzas are always amazing, and today’s pizzas were no exception. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t up to par. I brought a first-time guest and ended up being over charged for a pizza option that wasn’t clearly explained. Our server, Jessica, was very transactional (I think you’ll do great in retail sales , but not as a server). Wasn’t very informative or helpful when I had questions. Great pizza as always, but today’s customer service experience definitely missed the mark. I’ll be back , but Jessica will NOT be my server again.

The Chicago deep dish pizza was amazing. Loved the crust. Absolutely delicious. Can’t wait to be back! The pizza chef brought the pizza to the table himself and Michael told us all about the history of the place.

Some of the best pizza I ever had! The Chicago style is not just a bunch of cheese and crust... it is actually a deep dish pizza with a lot of toppings and a lot of flavor all of it handmade and homemade My wife had the thin and crispy and hers was delicious as well and very reasonably priced. Every time we come to Houston we'll be making a trip to Star Pizza I recommend it highly.
